Colt, NFL Training Camp Dates, KFVE, WAC, Kapanui

Kathy Orton writes about Colt Brennan's first day of training camp.
Following hip surgery in April, Brennan had been limited in the offseason practices leading up to training camp. Now that he has been given full clearance from the doctors, the quarterback was eager to show what he could do.

"Today for the first time I was really pushing it, and my hip was holding up fine," Brennan said. "Everything felt really good."
Matt Terl of the Redskins blog thinks Colt throws funny.
Two things about Brennan stood out for me. First, he was a thicker guy than I had expected after watching him in college. Had some more heft to him than I would’ve thought. Second, he has a really weird delivery, somewhere between sidearm and pushing the ball, and it really needs to change if he’s going to have success on the NFL level. He did complete a few nice passes, but watching that delivery through the traffic of the line … it just doesn’t look like it’s going to be fully effective as is. We’ll see if Coach Zorn can change that.

Jim Leahey and Russell Yamanoha will be calling UH football games for KFVE this year.

Felix Chavez of the Las Cruces Sun-News picks Hawaii to finish 7th in the WAC this year, but hedges his bets:
7. Hawaii — Warriors lose head coach June Jones and QB Colt Brennan among others. Also lose top four receivers. But the program was good under Jones and that could continue this year despite his departure. If the team can find itself early, it could finish in the top three.

And Chad Kapanui was the sole Eastern Conference quarterback in the UIF League All-Star game. The article doesn't have any stats on him.
