Week In Review

The Star-Bulletin has an article on the redemption of Colt Brennan.

The Advertiser says that my hero in football as well as in life, Timmy Chang, will likely not be cut by the Cardinals.

UH to play the Florida Gators in Gainesville in 2008.

Errr, ex-UH players playing in Japan. Chad Kapanui might play for IBM's company football team. They really know how to put a company team together in Japan.

Ferd Lewis sings the praises of old line coach Mike Cavanaugh in an article about new line coach Wes Suan.

Vili's kid Whitley, if that is his real name, has committed to play for Utah instead of UH. Vili is not taking it very well.

Aloha Stadium Upgrade

Both KHNL and KGMB report that Governor Lingle authorized $200K to install network cabling and transmission hardware in Aloha Stadium. Luckily, the cabling can be snaked through all the rusted out holes in the stadium support beams, saving thousands on wire ties.

2005 Preview

Is it too early for a 2005 UH football preview? FoxSports.com doesn't think so. This article is an in-depth look at the individual players, analysis of the team as a whole, and predictions for the upcoming season. The writer, Pete Fiutak, says it's pretty much gonna be a rebuilding year and we'd be lucky to have a winning season. Pete Fiutak is an arse. We all know that all signs point to the proverbial undefeated season that's been prophecised by the hairy oracle. Pete Fiutak is an unbeliever that shall be afforded no comfort at the table of the faithful, with our big fat steaks and our mead from Valhalla.

Quarterbacks

A profile on quarterbacks Tyler Graunke and Colt Brennan. Graunke seems like the eager go-get-em whipper-snapper, while Brennan seems like the older, wiser, quiet sort of gunslinger. The beginnings of a quarterback controversy!

Junior College Players

A story by Stephen Tsai in the Advertiser talks about two juco transfers, Blake Robinson and Nick Hill, coming to UH to help strengthen the defense.

The same article also states that the UH players will be camping out in the school's dance studios for August training camp. For some reason, now all I can think about is Tony Akpan wearing a tutu.

The wack WAC

Ferd Lewis finds a silver lining in the fact that we belong to such a tattered, decimated conference. Through loss of our best members, UH is now one of the league's best.
