Fresno Refs Are Awesome

Here's video of the "running into the kicker" penalty from the Fresno game. Wow. That is ridiculous. It wasn't even a good acting job!

And I'll say it again -- Fresno State was called for zero penalties last night.

Thanks to jarsofclay73 for uploading the vid.

UH always gets ripped off on officiating. But I got one word for the officiating and flop, BACHI. Just makes the win even more special.

Does anyone have video of the other phantom calls?

A few comments about this past Fresno State game:

    1. My vote for outstanding UH offensive players--the entire UH offensive team for seemingly working together better although much still need to improve. The blocking still needs to get better and the receivers could still improve.

    2. My vote for outstanding UH defensive players--the entire UH defensive team for never giving up. Still need to improve but this is still the strengh of the team.

    3. My vote for outstanding Fresno State offensive players--the Officiating staff (and they were totally offensive)--they did everything to allow Fresno State to steal a win so they could maintain their national ranking and still possibly go to a BCS Bowl.

    4. My vote for the outstanding Fresno State defensive players--again the officiating staff for the bad calls on UH only while giving no penalties on Fresno State.

Some of you will undoubtably disagree with my next observation--I may be wrong but this is my view. I am very happy that UH won a battle that was really needed at this point in time. But when you look at the statistics, how did Fresno State even lose this game? They seemed to beat UH in most categories except the turnovers and missing the field goal on their part. Was UH lucky to get 6 turnovers from Fresno? What if we got only 5 turnovers, would UH still win? I guess I somewhat agree with Lonyae Miller who said "Without the turnovers -- without the fumbles and the interceptions -- it's easily a blowout,We killed ourselves." I agree with him, Fresno did help UH in killing themselves--for which I am grateful that someone felt bad for having the officials cheating for them.

I guess what I am saying is that UH cannot be satisfied with just a win over Fresno--the offense, defense, and special teams all need to keep getting much better. Yes we are in the WAC portion of the schedule but remember, we still have BCS teams still to come with Washington State and Cincinnati at the end of the season. Plus we would still have to beat nationally ranked Boise plus hoping that both Fresno and Boise have other WAC losses for UH to have a chance at the WAC Championship plus a good enough overall record to go to a Bowl.

i still can't believe how much yards on the ground the bulldogs gained. no doubt those turnovers helped a lot. it was sort of the opposite of the san jose state game, where UH absolutely dominated SJSU on defense, but still lost. maybe UH learned a thing or two about forcing turnovers from that game, hah.

i don't think UH will be satisfied and rest on their laurels or anything like that. i think with inoke now entrenched at #1 (most likely), he'll get more and more comfortable in the passing schemes and they'll fine tune the running and rollout schemes they implemented, maybe adding new wrinkles to exploit other teams weaknesses. funaki had a breakout game against fresno... but that was just the beginning! *cue dramatic music*

Tombo, that is what I mean, I couldn't believe Fresno's yards--just think if they did not have one or two of those turnovers--they would have scored more and UH most likely would have lost. I guarantee you that Fresno will never give away that many fumbles and interceptions again. They were a good strong team that made too many mistakes that benefited UH. I would like to say that UH was good and not just lucky.

Lets all hope that they don't rest on anything but that UH continues to quickly improve and really dominate their opponents like they can and should.
