Glanville Expected to Leave

UPDATE: It's official. Check the original links, which have updated their stories, for the most part. And it's official here too. UH football will be okay.

Dave Reardon with the news:
Hawaii defensive coordinator Jerry Glanville has reportedly been offered and accepted the head football coaching position at Portland State.

Mouse Davis, another UH assistant and the former Portland State head coach, is expected to join Glanville as offensive coordinator.

"It looks like Jerry's taking the job. I think they've reached an agreement and he likes it and they like it," Davis said in a phone interview with the Star-Bulletin this morning. "He's a very good fit, and his wife (Brenda) has fallen in love with the place."
Stephen Tsai with more:
PSU officials have scheduled a news conference for 1:30 p.m. Hawai'i time.

"We have nothing to say at this time," said Glanville, who has been in Portland since Sunday.

But he told The Adverertiser he postponed his scheduled departure from this morning until tomorrow.
And more:
Of the PSU job, Glanville said, "Somewhere along the way you do God's will. He'll either say 'yes' to you or he'll say 'no' to you as you look around. You wait for his signal."
Fare thee well Oh Sensei of the San Shi Defense. But fear not UH fans, we got some great coaches ready to assume the mantle. Guess we'll hear the official announcement later today.
