Na Koa Lunch Report, Injuries, Special Teams

uhwarriors has this week's Na Koa Lunch Report up on SportsHawaii.com.

Stephen Tsai has injury updates on Jovonte Taylor, Royce Pollard, R.J. Kiesel-Kauhane and Elliott Purcell. He also writes that Mike Tinoco, Jordan Gomes and Earvin Sione made the trip to Idaho.

Jason Kaneshiro writes about the tinkering on special teams and Austin Hansen practicing more at right tackle.

And Jake Alger of the Idaho Press-Tribune doesn't think much of the Warriors.
This weekend, when the University of Hawaii Warriors visit Moscow for a WAC showdown, pay close attention to the awful smell as they arrive. It will be the stench of losing — and for once it won't belong to the Vandals.

This 2-3 Hawaii squad has been blown out in two conference games while defeating Central Arkansas — yes, they have a team; I was surprised, too — and Washington State. A win against the latter, a BCS-league opponent, may appear impressive at first glance, but keep in mind that the Cougars are quite possibly the worse Football Bowl Subdivision squad in the country.

Last year Hawaii ran up and down the field against Idaho, but that was with the help of stalwart quarterback Greg Alexander, who will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. They have other weapons, but he was the crux of that offense.
UPDATE: Missed this article by Billy Hull featuring some of the Hawaii-grown players playing for Idaho.

I say the Warriors will have a losing season this year. After Alexanders injury, all hopes of a winning season went down the drain. Hopefully next season Rausch's pinky will be ready for game time. Go IRISH !!!
