From the Blogs: Tuesday Practice Reports
Dave Reardon has some notes from today's practice. Here's an excerpt:
Stephen Tsai has some photos from the field and some notes as well, including:
Adam Leonard was back in practice today along with Richard Torres. Brashton Satele sat out with his shoulder injury, but McMackin said he could be back tomorrow. Graunke was first up behind Funaki working against the scout team although the other QBs got reps as well. …Also from the post, Dave writes that the Rob & Russ Show are soliciting more names for the Inoke Funaki-led UH offense. I like Poidog's "North Shore Offense" suggestion, which kind of started the whole thing. You can submit suggestions to Rob & Russ for a chance to win some slippers!

Kealoha Pilares practiced at slotback today.

No need label it other than Hawaii's mixed plate offense. As long as the offense is geared towards the QB's strengths it is the same offense. I remember Rolo did a lot of running around when he was QB. While it was r&s, when ever Rolo was rolling out more times than not good things happened. Of course, Rolo had the arm and Leilie which spread the field. Mixing it up keeps the D on their heels.
While JJ's r&s was great last year, it had weakness as shown at the Sugar Bowl. The roll out last year at Sugar Bowl might have given CB 2 more seconds to throw and allow the receivers to get open.

when tyler's hand heals, this might be a good offense for him as well because he has some pretty good running ability. not that he'll take back the starting job from inoke, who looks like has the job down solid.
