Press Conference, "Clarification"

HawaiiAthletics.com has quotes from today's press conference with Coach Greg McMackin. Here's an excerpt:
On the importance of the upset win:
After the ball game you look at the statistics, and just winning under the adversity we were under, the travel, the fans that test your limits, and being at their home against a really good football team…it was a hard fought football game and our guys didn’t quit. They fought to the end and I respect them and our coaching staff. We now have a team that fights together, who have been in the fire together, and now we can continue to get better. There are a lot of things that we can improve on, but now we can be as good as we want to be because we have something to build on.
Dan Kelly and Keao Monteilh were also there.

And Coach Mack put in a call to the WAC office to get some "clarification" about the officiating in the Fresno game.
Hawaii coach Greg McMackin today put in a call to the Western Athletic Conference to get "clarification" about the officiating in Saturday's 32-29 overtime victory at Fresno State.

The Warriors were flagged 10 times in their upset win, including a running into the kicker penalty in overtime that allowed Fresno State to retry a game-winning field goal. The Bulldogs, who fell out of the Top 25 with the loss, weren't penalized once.

"I'd like some clarity," McMackin said. "I would like to have some clarification. I've coached a long time and I've never been in a situation where a team doesn't get any penalties, and you get 11."
Can't wait to hear what the WAC has to say.

    After SJSU, some lost hope.
    After FSU, some regained hope.
It's the same team. They are trying their best every week. We should support them and embrace that they have never quit this season. They have fought hard and improved week to week like Warriors. We should commend the coaches for doing what they said they need to do.

The offense still needs time to gel, and heal. The defense and special teams are doing that something special that they did last year in picking it up to help the offense.

The best thing about college football is anyone can win. UH still can have a winning season, by focusing on each task at hand, and each assignment, for each game.
