Training Camp Day 7 Reports

VIDEO UPDATE: Chawan Cut compiles tonight's news from KITV, KGMB and KHON.

======

Stephen Tsai has some bad news regarding Blaze Soares.
• Leftside linebacker Blaze Soares suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury during today’s drills. He was taken by motorized cart to the training room for medical tests. He will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.
Ugh. Hope Blaze has a quick recovery. Tsai also has some bad news regarding Tyler Graunke:
• Quarterback Tyler Graunke still has not fulfilled the academic issues needed to resume practicing.
On the bright side, at least for the defense, bowstock on WSN describes a forced fumble drill:
Three players are involved in this drill, everyone rotates to different positions.

The ball carrier is hit high by a tackler and stood up, while the trailing tackler reaches in for the ball and muscles it out.

The ball carrier trys to resist.

These guyz are getting really aggressive--one lineman literally ripped the ball carriers arms off to get the ball loose.
Oh noes! Let's hope for a quick recovery for the armless running back.

UPDATE: Dave Reardon reports that Rocky Savaiigaea sat out with an injury, but it doesn't appear to be serious.
“Rocky’s going to be OK. He just has a pull in his arm area and he’ll be back in the next few days. We’re just not going to take any chances,” coach Greg McMackin told reporters after this morning’s practice. “You know, it’s a game of injuries. Even with Blaze, he was just doing a form tackle. When you get injuries, that’s what depth is all about. You move on to the next person. Any position that loses somebody, it’s unfortunate, but you move on.”
