Training Camp Day 6 Reports

There was a beef on the field today as tensions between offensive and defensive linemen escalated, but hopefully Coach Mack put a quick an end to any lingering animosity.

goBows15 on SportsHawaii:
There was another scuffle today, not sure exactly who was involved but it was O-Line/D-Line during 11 on 11s. After it was broken up Mack called the whole team together and called them out on it. I clearly heard him say that "don't you EVER take a swing at one of our players! leave that High School bullshit out of here! Play smart!" Very direct and making sure the players are accountable. Great to see his leadership in action.
Dave Reardon shares his thoughts on it, and talks to one of the players involved:
Defensive lineman Cameron Allen-Jones was in the middle of some of it.

“We’re still a team,” he said. “You’re going to have your problems and conflicts. But it’s just like a family. You always make up. So we’re all cool. No grudges. It’s football.”
Back to actual practice, from the SportsHawaii thread, some observations from NelsonO:
The team practiced field goals this morning and both Dan Kelly and Brett Symonds looked very good. Kelly took all of the longer field goal attempts. Tim Grasso was the holder.

Freshman defensive lineman Haku Correa took part in practice.

QB Greg Alexander is looking very good. He is smooth with his delivery, he throws a nice ball, and he is making good decisions.

During the one-on-ones, defensive tackle Josh Leonard was almost unstoppable. During one match-up, left tackle Laupepa Letuli locked up a defensive end and drove the defender into the ground near the right tackle spot.
Lots more good stuff from that thread. uhwarriors also contributed a report.

On WSN, practice notes from rbaloha, KazzUU and uhfanzonly. Here's an excerpt from uhfanzonly's post:
On Defense it looks like Monteitlh and Silva are the starters at S right now with Dowling and Mouton but really were pretty much deep at the CB position.
LB position is stacked with R.J. and Satele.
On the DL C.J. Allen Jones was in the backfield almost everytime he was in with the 2nd string.
-When the DL went against the OL in drills Savaiigaea and Watson were so fast getting off that they looked unstoppable it was amamzing to watch such big guys be so freckin fast..It was like DE's in the middle.
-To be fare Estes did pretty good against both.
Leanord looks bigger but looks to still have his speed and Meatoga is a gamer..He is gonna be a superstar in the future for us.
-The whole DL is solid.
Also on WSN, bowstock with his report:
Paipai Falemalu is on the D Scout team at OLB.

Here is the D Scout team:

DL--Alasi Toilolo, Keahi Watson, Chris leatiaga, Tua Mahaley
LBS-- Paipai, Joshua Rice, Corey Paredes.
DBs--Kawika Ornellas, Steven Christian, Kenny Estes, Richard Torres.

* Blase, Mouton and Jameel are on ST's to block FGs.
And Stephen Tsai writes that incoming juco offensive lineman Kainoa LaCount will grayshirt:
Offensive lineman Kainoa LaCount said he will grayshirt this season and join the Warriors in January.
LaCount had fallen behind, missing the Warriors’ first week of training camp while he took classes at College of the Canyons.
LaCount has a redshirt year available, so he still have two seasons to play for the Warriors.
