Brent Rausch to Start (Most Likely)

Dave Reardon writes that a decision has been made, and signs point to Brent Rausch as Hawaii's new starting QB.
Greg McMackin told assembled reporters after practice today that he and his assistants have decided on the starting quarterback for the Florida game. He would not say who it is yet. But unless we get a very late breaking curveball between now and the announcement, all indicators point to Brent Rausch.
According to the Honolulu Advertiser, Brent Rausch is expected to be named the starting QB for the Florida game.
Brent Rausch, a transfer from the College of the Desert, is expected to be named starting quarterback for the Warriors' season opener against Florida.

An official announcement is expected tomorrow.

Rausch has been playing with the first team during the past two days of practice.
Holy moly!

UPDATE: Here's an encore presentation of Brent's College of the Desert highlights.

UPDATE 2: Stephen Tsai has comments from Mack and Rolo.
“We’ve had over 1,000 snaps (per quarterback) to evaluate,” head coach Greg McMackin said. “That’s just counting live competitive snaps. We’ve been evaluating.. One of the players is moving up every day. It’s just time to make a move.”
Of today’s practice, quarterback coach Nick Rolovich said of Rausch: “He did great. … He made some great throws. He knows where to go with the ball. The guys buy into his personality. He’s vocal. He’s confident. He wanted it.”
