Spring Practice Day 6 Reports

Some reports from today's practice! Here are some links and excerpts.

From NelsonO at SportsHawaii.com.
Most of the team is on the field before 7:00am. Most of the players are stretching or warming up on the field even before the opening horn is sounded.
All you Castle Knights rejoice as outside linebacker Cory Paredes continues to run with the first team alongside Brashton Satele and R.J. Kiesel-Kauhane. The second team linebackers today were Mana Lolotai in the middle flanked by Po’okela Ahmad and Viliami Nauahi. Paipai Falemalu is only observing practice at this time.
From Stephen Tsai:
• Shane Austin continues to impress, and it would not be surprising if he exits spring training as at least the co-No. 2 quarterback.
• Inoke Funaki also had his most productive day as a running back. Funaki, who has never clocked faster than 4.6 seconds in the 40, is showing good burst to the outside. Leon Wright-Jackson also is having a good spring.
From Jason Kaneshiro:
>> The offense and defense had a red-zone period for the first time this spring. Lametrius Davis, playing safety again, broke up a pass at the goal line. For the offense, Royce Pollard made a shoestring catch for a score.

>> Not only is Inoke Funaki now open to getting hit in practice, he can deliver as well. The quarterback-turned-running back made some tough runs on his opportunities in the team period.

>> The Warriors aren’t doing much on special teams in the spring, but have done some kicking after practice. On Wednesday, it was Kenny Estes booting field goals. Today, defensive lineman Haku Correa was punting a few.
