Spring Practice Day 5 Reports
From Stephen Tsai:
• In the past 10 years, UH's four-wide offense had a basic alignment: if the ball is in the middle, there are two receivers on the left and two on the right of the formation; if it's on the right hashmark, there are three receivers to the left; if it's on the left hash, there three receivers on the right. But this spring, the Warriors are mixing it up. And that's where receiver Greg Salas fits in. Last year, the Warriors tried to motion Salas into the slot. "Now, if we want, he can start off there," coach Greg McMackin said. "We have a lot of options."From Jason Kaneshiro:
>> Corey Paredes got a turn with the first team at outside linebacker. A two-way player at Castle, Paredes shuffled between linebacker and running back in the fall, but said he feels more at home on defense.
>> Running back Leon Wright-Jackson has enjoyed a solid spring so far. He looks to be running with more authority after being slowed by a foot injury last season. He and safety Kenny Estes were involved in one of the day’s bigger collisions. Wright-Jackson broke through the line and had hit high gear when Estes stepped in front of him and absorbed the blow.
