Warriors in the Pros: Davone Bess

Dave Hyde, a columnist with the Sun-Sentinel, profiles Davone Bess.
If the times have you down, if you need a little spark, here's some advice: Go see Davone Bess play football this weekend. That's it. Just watch him line up at receiver for the Dolphins.

Because no matter what kind of holiday story the Dolphins write in the next few games, it won't be better than the one Bess already has. Eight months ago, when Bess clicked off the television at the end of the NFL Draft, his named hadn't been called over two days, seven rounds and 252 picks,

"I said, 'I guess I'll have to do what I always have,'" he said.

Which is?

"Overcome some things," he said.
Bess talks to the press in this video from Miami Dolphins.com.

Earlier this week, Ed Klajman had a special to the Star-Bulletin titled, "Don't bet against Bess."
With his next catch, Bess will become the first Dolphins rookie in seven years to have 40 or more catches in a season. And he's had a big impact on special teams too -- ranking first among AFC qualifying rookies with a 9.6-yard average on 16 punt returns. Plus he's fielded 14 kickoffs for a team-high average of more than 22 yards per return.
Bess has also been getting a lot of fantasy hype. Here's one example, from Newsday.com:
Davone Bess (Dolphins), WR: What a find Bess has been. He has been targeted frequently and has 20 catches for 245 yards the last three games. He's certainly an asset in PPR leagues. He had nine catches for 74 yards last week and faces the 49ers.
