Warriors in the Pros: Bess, Colt

Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano had some good things to say about Davone Bess today, talking about his role on the offense.
(Davone) Bess' role is very clear to me now, where earlier in training camp I wasn't quite sure maybe what his role would be, just that he would make the team. His role is clear to me. He plays on third down. He comes in and can be a part of that package. He gets his 20 plays that way during the course of the game. He's smart enough to understand all the other positions in case somebody goes down, so that part of it is coming around really clear to me. It's after the first three guys where the water starts to continue to get muddy a little bit.
Colt Brennan may have a cameo on Kenny Mayne's "Mayne Event" piece on this week's Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN. Matt Terl's Redskins blog has some details and a short video of Mayne preparing Colt, Chris Samuels, Jason Campbell and Antwaan Randle El to sing Hip Hop Hooray for the piece.

Interesting info from the WAC--things pertaining to UH. Nothing new--same old things, they must have learned a lot from Frazier while he was here.

There have been several questions pertaining to football officiating in the WAC.

Needless to say, these officials take their assignments very seriously and are very dedicated. Just like the players and coaches, they expect their performance on the field to be perfect each and every week.

COMMISSIONER BENSON: Very good question. Yes I am sure we could consider this type of scenario in the future but...that would then mean that the University of Hawai'i would no longer be “guaranteed” a bowl berth as they have now. While the WAC may support this type of arrangement, the owner of the game – ESPN – and the title sponsor – Sheraton – may have a different opinion.

If anyone wanted to read the WAC "Ask the Commish Questions", I forgot to give the following link:

My comments, the WAC Commisioner spent a lot of words defending the officials and it is amazing how many hours and things they supposedly do to improve themselves--and yet they are still not competent or unbiased in their job.

thanks for the link, fuzzylogic. interesting comments. wonder what grades the refs got from the fresno game? also, he kinda omitted a show of support for the hawaii bowl in his answer. maybe he's all pissed about all those e-mails i'm sure he got from UH fans.
