Hawaii 24, Louisiana Tech 14

Nice game. The offense is getting better and better. The defense brought the pressure and forced turnovers. Looking pretty good going into Friday's game against Boise. Here's a post-game wrap-up from Stephen Tsai:
Hawai'i dominated every phase in cruising to a 24-14 football victory over Louisiana Tech tonight at Aloha Stadium.

A homecoming crowd watched quarterback Inoke Funaki score his first collegiate touchdown while throwing for a career-high 224 yards and two touchdowns.
The Warriors, who forced four turnovers, including one at their 1, blitzed nearly every down. But they turned up the heat on third down, forcing Bennett, usually a pocket passer, to scramble on nearly ever play.
UPDATE: Here's the AP wrap-up via ESPN.com.

Woop-Woop! While happy for the UH team, I can only feel bad for Graunke. The all-time leading passer in his state (high school) who lost his job to Colt Brennan and in his last year has lost it to Funaki.

Great win by the home team. Defense again picked it up until the offense got going. Funaki was a little shaky at the start, but finished strong. I hope UH learns that Funaki plays better establishing the run and option first, and then the run and shoot. I continue to see the improvement which is good. We need to continue to improve to be competitive.

Frank, no feel bad for the guy who let himself, the team, and us down by not taking care of business in the classroom, spring football, and fall camp. He stay hurt, and Funaki deserves to play. Funaki needs to step it up a notch, which we know he can, and we will not miss the other guy.

I know we are trying to win, but I like to see the younger guys get the nod.
