Speaking of Warriors in the pros...whatever happened to Jason Rivers after he was released by the team that initially signed him? RGM is in the CFL now, right?

I would think that Rivers would make at least a scout team somewhere...

Haven't gone looking for news in a while but found some interesting articles. One expected and the other unfortunate.

Dooley Names Jenkins Starter for Idaho game

Sophomore signal caller to make first college start

    Oct. 13, 2008

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech head coach Derek Dooley announced that sophomore signal caller Ross Jenkins will start this weekend's contest against Idaho when the Bulldogs face the Vandals Saturday at 6 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium.

Dooley announced the decision during his regularly scheduled media luncheon Monday afternoon at the Charles Wyly Athletic Center.

"We are going to make a change of who starts at quarterback this week," Dooley said. "Ross will be the starter. I told Taylor that we can't blame (all the offensive problems) on him. Everyone on offense has to do a better job.

Mat McBriar has fractured right foot

    Tim MacMahon

Todd Archer reports that P Mat McBriar suffered a fractured right foot when Arizona's Sean Morey blocked the punt in overtime. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

We'll let you know as soon as we have some info about potential punting replacements.

UPDATE: Agent Jack Bechta said the doctor's recommendation was that McBriar be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Nothing on Jason Rivers--but I am sure he must still be trying and best wishes to him.
