Hawaii 36, Weber State 17

I have to say it. Tyler Graunke was reborn tonight, rising from the ashes, like a Phoenix out of Arizona!

Here's a post-game article from Stephen Tsai of the Advertiser.
Tyler Graunke went from the abyss to the bliss in leading the Hawai'i football team to a breathtaking 36-17 victory over Weber State last night at Aloha Stadium.

Graunke entered at the start of the third quarter, when the Warriors trailed 17-7.

He then led the Warriors to touchdowns on four of their next five possessions to make it 36-17.

It was a remarkable comeback for both the Warriors, who opened with a 56-10 road loss to Florida last week, and Graunke, who did not make that trip.

Graunke was held out of team activities for most of the preseason while he tried to resolve academic issues. He fulfilled those obligations a week before the Florida game, but did not participate in passing drills until this past Tuesday.

Inoke Funaki made his first UH start last night. But radio reports said he suffered a possible concussion in the first half.
Let's hope Funaki is okay.

Here's a wrap-up from the Star-Bulletin.
Buoyed by the return of quarterback Tyler Graunke, Hawaii shook off a slow start to score win No. 1 of the Greg McMackin-era last night at Aloha Stadium.

Graunke, reinstated to the team less than two weeks ago after resolving academic issues, replaced Inoke Funaki to open the third quarter and rallied the Warriors (1-1) to a 36-17 win over Weber State.

With the offense sputtering in the first half and Weber State leading 17-7 at the break, Graunke was summoned from the bench and finished 13-for-20 for 218 yards and three second-half scores, two going to slotback Aaron Bain.
Here's a wrap-up from the AP.
The senior was greeted with cheers and confidently completed his first pass, an 11-yarder to Malcolm Lane. He then capped a five-play, 88-yard drive with a pretty 42-yard TD toss to Lane down the right sideline to pull the Warriors within a field goal.
