Mike Washington will bedazzle--he is instant excitment.UPDATE 2: Dave Reardon has a report. Here's an excerpt about Greg Salas:
Greg Salas is a cut above.
Joe Avery is difficult to ignore and Aaron Bain deserves to be a co-captian..he is pure heart fokz.
Luv da kid.
Count sophomore wide receiver Greg Salas among the Warriors who spent the time between the end of spring practice and the start of fall camp wisely.
He’s up to 200 pounds on his 6-foot-2 frame and looks like he’s poised for a big year.

Blair leading race to become Tech's kicker, punter
By MATT WINKELJOHN
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 08/06/08
The mechanics are different for each job, but Blair's coach is not opposed to the idea of doubling up. "Not if he's the best on both," Paul Johnson said.
Small surprise Johnson feels that way. He's been there and seen that as an assistant at Hawaii.
The booter was Jason Elam. He left Hawaii as the WAC's all-time leading scorer (still is) and the school's career punting leader (still is). He joined the Falcons after 15 NFL seasons with Denver.
Elam made three Pro Bowls, is the only NFL player to score 100 or more points in 15 consecutive seasons (with the Broncos), and tied the NFL record for longest field goal (63 yards). He doesn't punt anymore, but knows both can be done.
"During an [NFL] game, if [a multi-tasker] gets hurt, you lose three positions. In college, you have plenty of backups so you can get through that game," Elam said. "Obviously, you have to have the God-given swing for kickoffs and field goals and punts because they all are completely different, but I really enjoyed it because you got into the flow of the game a little more."

Grigsby hopes to lower the boom on kickoffs
By Edgar Thompson | Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 08:22 AM
But while he’s gone toe-to-toe for the starting FB job with Reagan Mauia during the first week or so of training camp, Grigsby hasn’t lined with the first unit on kickoff coverage.
He’s hoping that changes.
