Lumpkin In / McMackin, JJ Event / TY CC

The Advertiser has an article about coach George Lumpkin being officially promoted/retained on the UH football staff.
George Lumpkin, who has coached or played for the Warriors 35 of the past 38 years, has signed a contract to be UH's assistant head coach and defensive assistant.

"George is very valuable to me," head coach Greg McMackin said. "He's a veteran here. He knows everything about the school. He knows academics. He cares about the players."

McMackin said Lumpkin, who is knowledgeable of the entire defensive scheme, will not be limited to one position. "That's great," Lumpkin said of his flexible role.
Here's a brief article from the Star-Bulletin about it, and the official press release from the UH Athletic department. Congratulations to Coach Lumpkin!

Dave Reardon writes about a very interesting upcoming event to be put on by the June Jones Foundation.
I wanted to let you know about an exciting event that will take place on Sunday, February 24, 6:00 p.m. at LuLu’s Surf Club Waikiki Beach. It is called An Evening with Greg McMackin and June Jones, and will exclusively benefit the Na Koa Football Club. Tickets are $125 per person and will include great food and beverages. There will also be entertainment and a live auction.
Cool.

On a sidenote, just wanted to thank Chawan Cut for doing an excellent job on the blog while I was away. As brew808 put it:
