Recruits list so far, UH Super draft **Correction**
Mr. Tsai has a list of verbal commitments in his WB blog.
A scholarship also has been offered to All State linebacker Art Laurel, from Leilehua.
Mr. Reardon also reports that we may get a bonus QB recruit Andrew Trudnowski along with the WR Jeramy Bryant we got last week from Los Angeles Harbor College. More details about Bryant in that article.
And UH recruiting up on the North Shore? JJ never paid a visit, but this is Coach Mack's team now... Way to go.
*** Correction *** JJ and other past UH coaches did visit the North Shore. The wrong news has been floating around. In Tsai's blog today he wrote this:
Coach Mack's Super Games draft to be held Friday. One way to make the spring workout sessions competitive and fun both in the weight room and in the classroom. Advertiser's take on it here too.
And what do you guys think about UH running the Aloha Stadium? Watch the news clips from yesterday for more info on this.

It appears somebody misinterpreted a comment made yesterday. While UH head coaches (Mike Cavanaugh, Rich Miano, Wes Suan, Dan Morrison, June Jones) have visited the North Shore in the past, including a memorable meeting two years ago, it had been 12 years since a UH head coach made a home visit to a recruit before McMackin's stopovers today.
I thought it was clear from the original text.

Mack has shown, in what less than 2 weeks, he is the right guy for the Warriors. Going to Kahuku with Cal to try to get Paipai, Alema, and Sileoh is good. Super games is smart. His staff looks really qualified and can relate to the boys. I think if Mack continues with this direction the Mack era of Warrior football will take it to the next level. Lets put a hurt on Boise and Fresno for the next few years and start whipping BCS teams.
I have supported turning over the Stadium to UH, but have second thoughts now. How about the State give UH athletic department 100% of gross revenue (not net profits) from UH games instead. Make it more permanent by giving UH a 100 year lease to use the stadium for $1 a game for UH games, and all gross revenue is given to UH athletics. This way some egg head legislatures in the future cannot tweak with it in tight years.

I believe a lot of readers including myself agree with Kaimuki boy that Mack is doing a lot of great things. Can't wait for the next season already!
As for the Stadium good alternative!

Not to be pessimistic but it seems like this year's class is amazingly weak compared to last year... Am I totally off-base? I imagined our 12-1 record would have meant more than the recent changes but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone else feel differently?

Yoda, that's what I was afraid of when UH promoted Mac to head coach. I still think we should've brought in Gilbride or Chow (they would be able to recruit beter). It's not a good sign when you're depending on JCs to fill your roster (like Riley Wallace, who never built a consistent winning bball team). And though I want the local boys to stay, the key to building a winning team is getting top recruits from the mainland as well. Nevertheless, UH is still my team and they have my support and aloha.
As for Aloha Stadium being run by UH? I don't think that's a good thing. 3 reasons: 1) Look at Hamilton Library. 2) Look at Hamilton Library again. 3) The whole mishandling of the June Jones fiasco.
