Davone Bess Going Pro

Via ESPN, Star-Bulletin has the news.
Hawaii junior slotback Davone Bess said today he will enter the upcoming NFL draft.

"I'm ready for the next phase of my life," Bess told ESPN.com. "I got a second round grade. I'm not just a receiver. As a returner what I bring to the NFL is that second dimension."

Bess caught passes for more than 1,000 yards in all three of his seasons at UH. He is a three-time all-WAC selection.
Congratulations and good luck to him. He'll always be remembered as "Da Bess" with his amazing catches and jukes.

UPDATE: Here's Stephen Tsai article about it. Davone Bess is officially gone.
University of Hawaii slotback Davone Bess has applied for the NFL draft, according to Kenny Zuckerman, who will represent Bess as his agent.
By signing with Zuckerman's firm today, Bess' decision becomes irreversible.

"He's not going back to school," Zuckerman said.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Bess based his decision on his strong season (108 catches, 1,266 yards, 12 touchdowns), his good health, and a strong rating from an NFL advisory committee, Zuckerman said.

Zuckerman said Bess earned second-round ratings from three evaluators.
