Post Sugar Bowl Post

First off, hats off to Georgia -- they're a great team and played a great game. UH could not get anything going against them. It was a really frustrating night. We'll have a lot of time to go over the analysis, commentary, etc. in the next few days, weeks, months. Before I go, I just wanted to say that the UH fans at the Superdome were amazing and came out in full support of the team. You guys were loud, spirited and crazy till the very end. And to the UH players and coaches -- thank you. We'll never forget what an amazing season it's been, how hard everyone worked to make it happen, and what that will mean for the school years down the road. A lot more to say about that subject in the coming days as well.

I'll be traveling back home tomorrow, so once again, I won't post until late if at all. Tons of news to go through I'm sure. Be sure to check out the links I posted a few posts back, or in the sidebars to keep up to date with it all.

It was a great run by Colt and the Warriors this season. No matter what, this season will be one that Hawaii fans will remember for the years to come. It didn't have a signature win like the years they beat BYU but it is definitely one for the books.

Congratulations to Georgia and what I think will be a number three final ranking (at the very least).

I live in Atlanta and watched the game. Although I rooted for georgia I was impressed by the spirit with which the hawaii fans expressed themselves. The score though says it all.

    Love the Ha'a dance though.

From a Georgia grad and a diehard Bulldog fan, congrats to the Hawaii team on making it to a BCS game, and for continuing to play their hearts out even when it was clear the score was getting out of hand. From what I could see on TV, y'all have some great fans, too, the way they cheered for Hawaii's touchdown. Sometimes I think there are some fairweather Dawg fans who could learn a little from that.

Hope all the Hawaii fans have a safe trip home, and good luck to you in 2008.

Well at least you had a good trip. The Sugar fell from the sky and Georgia well... we're home there just as we are between the Hedges. Nonetheless...

I actually like the run n gun but you defeat it by being fast and that's just what that was. I loved every minute of it because it showed OSU the kind of speed and strength they're going to see on Monday. Guys I'm glad you got to New Orleans but Brennan had it right, he played a terrible game. Give him credit for that and the tenacity that he came with. Even after being knocked out of the game he wanted back in. Takes guts to want to come back but I'm glad June Jones kept him out, he stood a good chance of being severely hurt.

Now you get to prepare for Florida first game of the season in '08. By God, if you can absorb anything from the Sugar Bowl, know that it only gets faster. Florida and Georgia are almost identical and next year both teams will be more experienced. I'll be watching that game and hoping you put a beating on the gators... Geaux Warriors, now the entire Bulldawg nation is your greatest fan, believe it.

And I'll say. I'm no fan of the WAC, PAC-10 or Big 10... but you guys came a long way from nothing a few years ago...

    so hell yah, you belong.

I just wanted to add that I am glad this game is over. My stomach has been in knots for days and for Sugar Bowl last night, I could barely make it through. Alas, with everything going on, I looked at that huge wide screen at the bar, endured the hecklers and continued gritting my teeth while watching the expressions of my team- endure a major blow all while still maintaining Aloha Spirit.

GA- you guys played a great game!

I look forward to facing you all again in the future.

I am also a Georgia fan and graduate, and I wanted to congratulate the Warriors for making it to the Sugar Bowl. I know the game did not turn out as the people of Hawaii would have liked, but I admire the spirit of your team and fans.

I believe your team experienced the growing pains most teams experience when they first play on that state. Hopefully it will help June get additional funding for the program, and you will come back even stronger. Beat the Gators next year!!

We just got dominated on line play on both sides - couldn't stop the pass rush and couldn't stop the run. The offensive tackles for Hawaii just looked way outmatched. Georgia's talent level is amazing and they will be a great team next year. When Colt actually had time to throw he looked decent, but that wasn't too often.

Still a great year, and hearing the Hawaiian War Chant on TV during a major New Year's Day bowl was awesome. On the bright side, Graunke was actually moving the offense at the end of the game after Brennan was knocked from the game, so maybe next year has some promise after all.

Just shows Hawaii did not belong in a BCS Bowl. Don't want to hear about Boise St. beating Oklahoma last year. Improve you strength of schedule and play real teams like your conference foe Fresno St.

I can't say Hawaii belonged (deserved)in this game just as I can't say UGA belonged in the NC game.

I can say I was really disappointed in the game especially the cheap shot from Jones - which apparently was planed from the outset to show UGA Hawaii was ready for a fight. I guess that woke up the bear and the bear got revenge.

It has been one wild ride for our team into the big time. The fact that we made it this far given what little we have to work w/ is something we can all be proud of.

A couple of well deserved comments. First, Georgia is an awesome team. They deserve to the in the national championship game. We got whipped, but it was by a tremendously talended team that deserved to win. Second, I/we appreciate the class that many Georgia fans have displayed in this blog. We got our asses kicked, but they have only given us a pat on the back and said good try. I wish their team the best next season.

Here's to next season and hopefully another wild ride!!!!!

Hey Hawaii fans, first of all let me say that you guys had a hell of a season. I got to watch your games against Boise State and Washington on ESPN, it's a shame we cannot watch more games here in the southeast. Also, no one should judge Colt Brennan on this game, no one can have a good game when they are hit every other play, wishing Colt lots of success in the NFL, and Hawaii- beat the Gators next year!

Props to Georgia. I hope this season will serve as a base to build upon, and that the athletic department and powers that be at UH will learn the lesson that if we want to compete on the highest level every year, we need to commit a similar amount of resources (translation: more than 50K for a recruiting budget) that big-time programs do. This year our team made dollars out of pennies. Let's see what we can do with dollars, Mr. Frazier, do ya hear me?

And I'm not one to second-guess an NFL-caliber coach, but why did Jones not primarily use Libre at running back? He was tearing it up the past few games and could've helped open the passing game? Pilares should move to slot next year.

i'm still proud of the way they played, even with the score out of hand, they were still playing hard - running down the georgia kickoff returner in the 4th quarter, for example.

however what said the most to me was hawaii players helping the georgia players up off the ground in the 4th quarter - that's class on the part of the warriors.

As a long time Alabama and Hawaii fan residing in the Southeast (my home is Haleiwa, HI), I have to say I am SO proud of the UH Warriors and very disappointed in the way Georgia handled themselves. They are NOT in the running for the No.1 spot so why they felt the need to run the score up and continue to pound Hawaii's players is beyond me. I used to have a great deal of respect for Mark Richt, but I don't know what he was doing last night.

Warriors, we've been cheering you on all season and going 12-0 no matter WHO you played is AWESOME! We love the "Rainbow" Warriors and always will. Love the new Ha'a chant. Thanks for bringing a taste of the Hawaiian culture to the South.

Wish we could have been there to cheer you on, but we were cheering loud and proud from our home! You made Hawaii proud, and you're ALL winners in our book!

Nice to see all these expressions of goodwill, but can we be real for a minute? As a UH fan, I believe the UH coaching staff really let down the team, school, and fan community. The team was poorly prepared to deal with the Dawgs' strengths and with the Sugar Bowl scene in general. Didn't see anything that would indicate hard analysis, innovation, counter-measures, trick plays, or even a full appreciation of the Dawgs' speed on defense, and in their running game----by a coaching staff that should know better. Emotionally UH was pretty much out to lunch. June Jones' comment at half to the effect that "...they're overwhelmed by the surroundings...." was telling. Whose job is it to minimize that impact? And the coach's pre-game pep talk theme---"play like we belong here"----weak---clearly expected to lose, and the players apparently got the message. Tougher than the loss itself was the way UH lost---the word "out-classed" comes to mind. Maybe the Warriors could not possibly beat Georgia, but I am certain UH could have made a considerably more respectable showing.

I hope that Teams in the WAC and MWC of which my team has been in both will finally realize that the schedules and teams they play are weak. Yes we can occasionally beat teams in the tougher conferences but clearly the better Athletes go to the stronger conferences. If you look at Hawaii's schedule how could you think they could compete against an SEC team. You were overrated and I think you all know that now.

UH, What a great season. I hope as others have stated, that June Jones can get the financial support he needs to move the program to the next level. The Alabama fan needs to look at the game again. Coach Richt would not do anything to harm another program. The next part of this message is for AL Fan.

AL fan how much do you know about GA football. I feel not much. Coach Richt keept our number one running back (and SEC Freshman of the year) out after the first quarter and 1/2. He only ran the ball 6 times. His injury appeard to be ok. UH was having trouble with the power and speed of GA running game. I feel by Coach Richt passing (wich UH was more prepared to defend ) was his way of calling off the dogs. To completely stop playing is showing no respect at all for UH. I do agree with putting in the 2nd or 3rd string players, however you cannot ask a football player to play at half speed( thats when injuries happen). UH should use this as a learning tool. They will now have an idea of how much work they need to do in the future and hopefully he can get the funding Coach Jones needs. So AL fan you neeed to look at your classless program before you open your mouth.

I am sorry that I have had to take up time on a UH blog. UH I hope you continue to improve your program. UH I will look forward to seeing how the program grows in the future.

    Warriors and UH Fans,
The superdome called and wants you to come back and clean up your blood. That humiliating dismemberment you suffered was just what the docter ordered. You can't point to last year's fiesta fluke, dance the Ha'a, talk smack, and then expect to survive against an SEC opponent. All of that loud talk and posturing ends at "kick off" and, as you witnessed first hand, your left with four agonizing quarters with a REAL football team. The UH parents should file a class-action suit against the BCS. The only thing missing when you left was a chalk-outline of Colt's body and crime-scene tape around the playing field. Mahalo!

Another UGA alum here. Show a little class sic em!. UH got pounded by superior athletes but took it like men. You guys should have a bright future. With a little BCS cash, it shouldn't be too difficult to recruit some top talent to play in paradise. However, you are going to have to deal with the strength of schedule issue.
About us running up the score; You can't expect a team to "take a knee" for a quarter. You take out your starters, but you go full speed.
Good luck guys and knock Tebow on his a$$ next year.

As someone who calls UGA his alma mater, I was glad to see the Dawgs do so well in the game. It felt great! To address some other issues, though:

    1. The people who say UH didn't earn the right to be there WEREN'T PLAYING YESTERDAY. They didn't earn it, but you guys did.

    2. Y'all had a rough outing yesterday. On other days, you've had exceptionally good ones. You came out, you played hard, and your girls got to see you on TV. Things could aways be worse.

    3. Some folks think UGA ran up the score to humiliate you. I don't think so. I think that putting in second string and taking it easy would have done that. No, the Dawgs worked their asses off because you have earned their respect. They knew how you guys can rack up a huge score when nobody's looking. They ran it up because of respect for your abilities.

This year, you were outmatched. Next year might be another story. You were in the Sugar Bowl, which is something that most of us can't say we've done. After all, on any given Sunday . . .

Boy your comment board looks like our forum board yesterday. Called lots of people watchin and trolls dissing us and whatevahs, comes with the territory. I do not care what they say, Hawaii all the way, people do not remember the days when Hawaii had no one to come see the games. It looks like even with a tougher schedule next year, the team has that experience under their belt. Now to get JJ a contract and put more money into the athlectic program, recruiting an facilities. To be competitive we need not only fan support but money support. WTG Tombo and already Congrats to Georgia on their board. They have been gracious to me so I have no qualms with them. I pray we keep this ball rolling and that we show our support not only this year, but in the years to come. AWESOME JOB WARRIORS......you did good regardless of what others say. Glad to see Colt and Rivers fine. Glad that Graunke and Bess, Grice Mullen back and the returning starters. Aloha, Warriorlova

Even though Colt Brennan was sacked 8 times, and the Warriors lost to UGA,every fan of UH football will hear these words from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in the NFL Draft later in April 2008:
"With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select,COLT BRENNAN FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII!" Congrats to the Warriors on a great season from a die-hard Notre Dame fan! (My aunt and cousins who live in Seattle used to live in Hawaii before they moved to my hometown of Washington,Pa.!)

Congrats on a great season Hawaii. I am glad to hear how you still are happy over your season despite losing the game.
The same cannot be said for UGA when they lost to West Virginia two years ago.
It was fun to see the game despite the lopsided outcome. I was really interested to see how the game between and SEC and WAC team. This is what I expected but still it was fun to see if the SEC really was that much better.
Congrats again and all I can say is good luck next year and beat the Gators!

I met several prior to the game. They were all warm, friendly, and wonderfull people. Good Luck next year and definitely beat the Gators!!!

Considering that half the New Year's day bowl games were blow-outs all between ranked teams where the higher ranked team won Hawaii fans shouldn't put their heads down. Being in the same company as Illinois (Big Ten) and Arkansas (SEC) isn't all that bad.

And if WFnVU hold and beat Oklahoma and the title game is a blowout either way, it's possible that Georgia could end up as high as number 2. I see no shame in ending the season to a top five team. Plus. Hawaii should still end up in the rankings unless the voters completely turn on them.

The main thing is that the WAC is getting more attention and that hopefully Hawaii will get more mainland bowl bids. Sure the Hawaii Bowl is nice but for recruiting and exposure a higher tiered mainland bowl is better for the program in the long run.

You were given the opportunity to play in a BCS game. Whether you will admit it or not, you owe that to Boist State for paving your way with their win last year. Having played like subdivision school in fromt of the nation, you set the WAC back. That, you did yourself.

I agree with lostinube and others. You can't judge a program based on one game. If that was so, then Ohio State shouldn't deserve to play in the national championship this year after getting their okoles spanked by Florida last year. And with all the other lopsided wins (including Illinois losing by more points than we did), it doesn't mean that those teams didn't deserve to be in those respective bowls as well. Hawaii had the only undefeated record in the regular season, a feat that no other team was capable of accomplishing and has shown that it is capable of beating BCS teams (Arizona State in a bowl game last year). Anyone who says that Hawaii didn't deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl is just hatin' because their own team was incapable of producing on the field consistently. When all is said and done, Hawaii may be the team with the fewest losses this year. That said, congrats again to a great game by Georgia, and I wish the Hawaii coaches did a better job...

The warriors gave it their all, and it was one hell of a season. Thank you. The Dawgs showed that SEC speed, it is hard to coach around two D ends who can get to you before the snap almost, I dont think Jesus could have done much against a rush our tackles could not handle. A few comments about the comments! lol

    1) please remember our schedule was the NUMBER ONE complaint and news story for months here in the islands WE were pissed about that and our AD. Next years schedule is more indicative of a usual UH schedule.

    2) I want to see ANY team in the nation do what UH has done with our facilities and a 50,000 recruiting budget, ANYONE. That we have done this is just a miracle

    3) We are not a big boy program... YET, you have to start somewhere, and even though we got whooped, its a start, we can only learn and improve.

    4) Dont call our boys thugs, Jones was out of line in his hit and antics, but having played with these guys, Jones NEVER teaches or encourages anything like that, to say it was on purpose is to just be talking out your butt (thugs would be Auburn cutting Dorsey etc, that is thugish)

    5) Finally, the recruiting will come, the players to take us to the next level will come, but what does and will continue to make our program special is the bond that is formed, from the Ha'a, to the cots in the gym during two-a-days, those bonds are life lessons that will follow those boys for life, that is what I love about our Warriors

Thank you Warriors for giving us an incredible season...the best in UH football history!! You are WAC champs, brought in millions of dollars to the school, and showed the rest of the country what makes Hawaii so special and unique. I see this last game as "growing pains" as we take the football program from one level to the next. Anyone who has ever accomplished anything great has experienced heart breaking challenges...in fact it's essential to growing. It would have been alot easier to be a mediocre team settling for the average season in the WAC, but you all played your hearts out in EVERY game which lead to an undefeated season, WAC Champions and a BCS game. I've been attending home games for the last 12 years and am thrilled with where you have taken the program!! Thank you for all of your hard work this year and representinig Hawaii and the Aloha Spirit. I'm so proud of you!!!!! Congratulations!!!!

hey warrior fans, as this blog was intended to be for before infultrated by some classless people. hold your head up. i was there last night and despite the result it was an amazing site to be seen. the hawaii fans though not as loud as uga fans were as loyal as can be. despite the score none of them left and were there for the fans at the end of the game as we sang Hawai'i Pono'i and the team did the ha'a one last time. the players maybe not as talented as georgia definately had the heart of a champion, as shown by their relentless perserverance throughout the game. they also showed class that was ingrained by their great coach June Jones. they were there to help the georgia players up the whole game while i never saw that same gesture offered by georgia. i feel that though we did not win the game it is obvious that the state of hawaii did win. the aloha spirit is alive and flourishing and with these people in tact results will come. so hold your heads up because this is just another step to the future.

Warriors, terrific season! NO TEAM in the country was 12-0, WAC champs, and BCS bowl bound. You played with the mana, and humbleness, that got you there. We Hawaiians that believed in you, know you are all destined for bigger wins in the future as well as in life. Georgia is a good team, but they were not undefeated. Growing pains always leads to growth at higher levels. University of Hawaii, open your eyes, you have a jewel that needs to be polished, and put on display for all to see. Invest in your program and the best coach UH has ever had. June your "O" is awesome but has some dents to be repaired. It got us to a championship, but dynasties are built on a rock solid D, kind of what Georgia put on display for all to see. Put them together, then come BCS calling prepared to do battle. Congratulations to all the players on both teams. Without you, there are no competitions for wannabe bloggers to talk about! E na toa, E na toa E! Go Warriors!!!!!

Leilani, I guess it's ok for Hawaii to run up the score on other teams, but when someone does it to you it's classless?

    63-6 vs. Northern Colorado
    49-14 vs. UNLV
    66-10 vs. Charleston Southern
    48-20 vs. Idaho
    50-13 vs. New Mexico State

First off UH fans, congradulations on getting to the Sugar Bowl. You have had a great season.

Now for the reality, most of the people posting on this board apepar to be very reasonable, but others seem have no clue about football. I am glad fans are actually starting to get excited about football on the island, but come on. What you are now experiencing is only a small scale taste of what happens every Saturday in Athens, Georgia in the fall for, oh I don't know, the last century or so. Can you immagine 20,000 more fans than the Superdome held mostly all cheering for your team? Over 92,000 fans fill Sanford Stadium every time Georgia plays a home game and beleive me we are every bit as passionate as you think you are.

Also, everyone is saying how Hawaii players are so friendly, but our players were actually saying that the UH players didn't really want anything to do with them in the days before the game. In an interview, one UGA player said he wanted to talk to the UH players and get to know them, but most of the players he approached didn't seem to be interested in that.

Also, how about that blatant hit by Keenan Jones on Mikey Henderson? It was very friendly and classy how he celebrated for 5 minutes after putting our senior receiver/kick returned out of the last college game of his career with a concussion. What a loser.

We all know about Colt Brennan's past, but what about the other players? I am pretty sure that one of UH's receivers was discovered playing in a pick up football game while in a detention facility. You guys seem to be the bad news bears of college football.

Georgia was playing it's 2 and 3 string players in the 4th quarter. What did you want us to do? Put helmets on our band members and have them go out there? We did not run up the score. We finished the drill. That is what we do at UGA. The score could have actually been much higher if that is what we were trying to do.

All the UH fans and players kept crying that they were getting no respect. Here is the thing, all you have accomplished is being the best team in a horrible conference. You wont get respect playing cream-puff teams, celebrating after illegal hits, and not showing up to play when you finally get a chance to prove yourself on national T.V.

I know UH will have a tougher schedule next year, but give me a break. UH barely scrapped by powerhouses like La. Tech, Nevada, and San Jose State. I am prety sure UH played 4 teams that finished the season with 2 or less wins and another handfull with 3-5 wins. Not too impressive.

Colt Brennan said that the country was going to be shocked when Hawaii took the field against the Bulldogs and he was right to a degree. He should have elaborated and said UH fans were the ones that were going to be shocked.

UH was completely shut down and exposed for what they are on New Years day.

The main thing I am getting from some of these posts is that UH fans love their team. Well, that's good and you should. That is how we in the Bulldog Nation have felt about Georgia for a very long time.

I concur with the above comment. I recently vacationed with my family in Hawaii (Kapa'a) and was appalled by the responses of many islanders when they saw my Georgia hat. I was actually called a "redneck howlie" while on a golf course, and was taunted by many who actually believed that UH would offer some level of competition to the Dawgs.

Hawaii is decades away from even remotely understanding the football tradition as it is celebrated by SEC schools. The audacity of Hawaii's fans and ignorance of UH's players could only be answered by the Dawgs, and answer they did.

I encourage all of the Warriors to make a trip to Athens, Ga. Make certain to visit any of our fine dining locations (make certain to order collard greens, cornbread, and fried chicken....as i noted that Hawaii's chickens are protected and run freely about), and then make Sanford Stadium for a game. Then, and only then, will you begin to fully understand why your team was so soundly beaten. GO DAWGS!!!!

After hearing of Georgia's being relegated to play UH in the Sugar Bowl, I researched UH's schedule and game performances. I was impressed by the high scores (y'all really ran the score up on several opponents) and was momentarily expectant of a good game. Then I saw the teams UH played........my excitement dwindled and once again replaced by anger towards the BCS system.

Being a loyal fan and member of the Dawg Nation, I payed close attention to the hype and media coverage in the weeks leading up to the game. It was amusing to me that the UH folks ACTUALLY convinced themselves that they stood a chance. As game day drew near, I began to feel a level of humiliation that my Dawgs were playing a high school team (at best) and that all of the talking heads on the sports programs were pandering to UH.....going on and on about Colt's passing threat, etc, etc. Were they really serious?!?

Then, GAME DAY was upon us. The Warrior Dance was the straw that broke the camel's back....followed by that cheap shot on Mikey Henderson. I grinned from ear to ear as I watched Colt Brennan finish each play on his back....over and over and over again. UH had that coming to them. You got to reap what you sowed. But then.......

Post game......listening to Colt Brennan's pathetic whining and reading of UH fan's alleging that Georgia "ran the score up". You got off easy. Could'a been worse. Should'a been worse. Coach Richt could have let them loose.

In the end UH got what they deserved. They did not deserve to be there and it showed. By the way, did the probation officers for the team know all of those criminals had left the state?

I don't know what it is about those "criminal" cheap shots. People who claim to research the team yet come away not knowing anything really aren't endeavoring to learn - they're just trying to justify they're hate.

For me, the more I learned about how Hawaii was matching up against Georgia, the more I was convinced Hawaii was going to lose. Not a good feeling. I wanted to hope, wanted to believe the hype about Colt and the receivers. The nation likes Cinderella stories and cheers for the underdog. But when it comes down to it, you just have to be prepared. This game, Hawaii was not prepared.

Hawaii, you have pride, you have some talent, you have your ohana and your aloha spirit. For that you have my respect. But you did not have the power or the skill to move the ball against a tougher, faster team. I don't know if that was a coaching thing or not. I do hope that you will learn much from this loss and come back next year ready to take on those Gators.

    Imua!

I just got back from NO. I live in Utah. Great place to ski. It was great to see so many people from Hawaii out there. It felt like being back home.

    Just a few comments:

UGA should be playing in the NC, I think they could beat either team up there LSU or OSU. But to say Hawaii doesnt belong playing with the "Big Boys" is assinine. Hawaii is ranked 10, UGA is ranked 4 and in my opinion should be 1 or 2.

If you put Hawaii up against a closer ranked opponent, there would have been a much better showing. Id say UGA would beat any team in the country right now, barring USC, that would be a great game.

The WAC is a weak conference, full of schools with football budgets less than a "Big Conference" coach's salary, and yet these weak conferences continue to show up and give the "Big" conferences a run for their money. Literally.

UH just took $$5 Million from a "Big School" just by making it as far as they did. Thats a victory in itself.

Remember coach Urban Meyer of the Utah Utes, who had to play a very overmatched opponent in the Pittsburg Panthers from the Big East in the Fiesta Bowl? Yah, the guy from the MWC who took the big money job at Florida? Its easier to get talent when you have money.

As far as tradition goes, the tradition of the Aloha Spirit has been around and practiced since before the days of plantations and bailing cotton.

The kids on either side of the ball don't know your football traditions, they see the passion from it in a 90k fan stadium, the kids play because they love the game. Dont dis the kids. And remember they are Kids under lots of pressure. Mainly from the fans.

The UGA team may have alot of weight on thier shoulders, and they should considering the amount of revenue generated from thier program, but Colt and his team carried a whole state with them. To call these kids criminals I would say is representative of what a TRUE UGA fan would frown upon, given all the tradition. Colt has gone through and accomplished more than most fans on either side have, and he is still just a kid.

It doesn't matter that the team lost, it matters that we were there. Many of us and in force.

I had a great time visiting with both UH and UGA fans, great people on both sides. Sitting, eating and talking a great time was had by all.

Remember Hawaii, whether you choose to visit us in paradise on vacation or see us on the other side of the field, we will always welcome you as guests and opponents for some from friendly competition. We will always be there.

    Aloha...

We are Warriors, and WE WILL BE BACK!

As an alumnus from many years ago, I am a strong Warrior fan even though I now live in Florida. Two things in particular really bothered me about the game. On defense, missed tackles, lots of them. On offense, couldn't contain the pass rush (duh!). Not sure what to do about missed tackles, but it seems we could have done more to stop the pass rush. If a five or six man front can't do the job, use two blocking tight ends and a blocking running back to hold them off. Even with only 3 receivers, Brennan is accurate enough and the receivers quick enough to make some plays. One thing is for sure, you can't make plays when you're on your back!

I didn't read all the comments, but I hope that the Georgia fans weren't @$$es when they posted. From what I have heard and what I saw on TV, the Hawaii fans were top notch and great fans. You represented your school and state well.
Hope you beat the gators next year.

I abandoned my family and paid big bucks to get to the Sugar Bowl and watch our boys play. I have no regrets. I would do it again in a heart beat, even if I knew the outcome. The Warriors deserve our respect, support, and loyalty. We still are WAC Champions and made it to the BCS!

All the GA fans that I met were cool before, during, and after the game. The ones who pop-off on the internet don't represent the majority of them. After the game, GA fans had respect for our team and Brennan for not giving up. They also respected UH fans because even after the game, we held our heads high, still supported our team, congratulated GA on winning, and said we will be back.

GA fans had a great deal of respect for the fans for shelling out the big $ to go to the game. Many GA fans thought that if they had to go to Hawaii for BCS game, less would show up than we did in NOLA.

"They are NOT in the running for the No.1 spot so why they felt the need to run the score up and continue to pound Hawaii's players is beyond me. I used to have a great deal of respect for Mark Richt, but I don't know what he was doing last night."

Good so then you can join me in writing to the powers that be at the BCS and Mark Slive and get them to stop the madness. We need a playoff. The NCAA does not officially recognize a national champion in Division I-A football. As far a as running up the score goes, Richt put in our second, third, and fourth string qbs.
