Craig Stutzmann: GA
Dave Reardon writes that former UH receiver Craig Stutzmann has joined the Warriors staff as a graduate assistant.
And maybe he can coach the punters too:
UPDATE: More from UH Sports Extra:
Stutzmann said he starts with UH this week, and that he accepted and offer from new head coach Greg McMackin to work with the UH receivers.Congratulations to Stutzmann!
"The opportunity is awesome," Stutzmann said
Stutzmann is a teacher and football coach at Saint Louis School, his high school alma mater. He said he will be allowed to continue teaching at Saint Louis through the summer.
"They've been very supportive," he said.
And maybe he can coach the punters too:
UPDATE: More from UH Sports Extra:
“I’ll start this week,” Stutzmann said. “I’m working on signing up for classes, and I’m excited about spring ball. I won’t be able to recruit off the islands, but I can go with the coaches locally. I’m looking forward to learning a lot and making a contribution.”Stephen Tsai has some news and notes from his post today. Some excerpts:
Defensive end John Fonoti has been placed on scholarship.
Defensive tackle Fale Laeli said he will undergo arthroscopic surgery to "clean up" his left knee. He is expected to be ready for spring practice.
Also, Greg McMackin leaves tonight on a recruiting mission to California. McMackin has promised to do as many home visits as possible.

Tombo, is Stutzman is the guy who kicked the football into the stands when we were destroying BYU? Anyway, congratulations to Stutzman. I like seeing more former players associated with the team.

Tombo, you da bomb. I should have watched the video before posting. That video is what I remember about that day. That image along with Rolo and Lelie connecting on long bombs, and Owens tearing up BYU on special teams. Too bad the video does not have Stutzman jumping into the crowd, and then us kicking off from like the 15 yard line. Ha, ha, ha. That was an awesome day.

bwahahaha! I still remember Stutzmann kicking the ball into the stands, and Donny Utu and others jumping almost over the railing and bobbing their heads with the UH fans. ESPN cut off the game because it was getting too long from all the scoring!

Hopefully Stutzmann comes in and coaches with class, not show boating like he did with that kick of the ball into the stands. The last thing the Hawaii team needs is 2008 team members trained to show-off. Lets not make the Hawaii loss to Georgia a reason for opponents to bash Hawaii even more. Lets hope his pay is decent enough to make him teach with humility.
