Nate Update / Records
Here's a couple of quotes from Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg that has to be encouraging/motivating for Nate Ilaoa.
UPDATE: Here's a link to video of Mornhinweg's press conference where he says these things. It's the first question he answers.
And here's a short little snippet of perhaps an insider's view of how the Eagles see Nate, from Dave Spadaro's "On the Inside" blog.
And Adam Caparell of CSTV.com, which sounds like a TV network, weighs in on Colt Brennan's season TD record.
Asked about the possibilities that (Tony) Hunt, a rookie third-round pick, or Nate Ilaoa, a rookie seventh-round pick from Hawaii, could expect to have an immediate impact at running back if starter Brian Westbrook and incumbent backup Correll Buckhalter remain healthy, Mornhinweg said: "Either one of those players [Hunt or Ilaoa] has an opportunity to help us in his rookie year. [Taking advantage] of the opportunity will be up to the individual player."Go Nate! Can't wait to see him and the rest of the Warriors playing on Sundays.
The most likely avenue for Hunt or Ilaoa to see playing time will be in specific roles, Mornhinweg said.
"We do a lot of [situational substitutions], so it could be 'situational' helping us," Mornhinweg said. "It could be more. It's up to that individual player."

The Eagles have also used third-round draft picks in third-year man Ryan Moats and rookie Tony Hunt, and have a seventh-round rookie named Nate Ilaoa they like a lot.======
In terms of promise, this position is one of the very best on the team. Should Westbrook miss time, the Eagles might have to alter the X's and O's some, but they have options. They have versatility. They have talent.

Going Down: A Record That's Bound To be Broken"Could very well play 13 regular season games"?? Let's hope he knows something we don't know. Haha.
Most Touchdown Passes In A Season
Record: Colt Brennan, Hawai'i, 58 in 2006
Chances of It Being Broken: Bet The Bank. As long as Brennan stays healthy, he's going to have plenty upon plenty upon plenty of opportunities to throw the ball in Honolulu. For one, he actually thinks he'll be throwing more passes this season and it looks like the Warriors could very well play 13 regular season games - 14 if they make it to a bowl, which they'll be expected to. Two FCS opponents look to be on the docket with only one BCS opponent (Washington) and a WAC schedule that features only three teams that finished with winning records last year.
