Deadline Extended w/UPDATE
But of course.
UPDATE: Dave Reardon with more.
University of Hawaii Athletic Director Herman Frazier said he has extended the deadline on whether the Warrior football team will play a 13th game to Friday.I don't know. It feels like good news. But then again, it's always felt like good news... until reality comes crashing down on top your head! Well, here's hoping for the best. Send your psychic waves of persuasion to those mystery coaches who may perhaps hold the fate of UH's 2007 season in their hands. Especially the BCS one. Awww yeah.
Frazier said he has offers out to two teams, one of which is from a Bowl Championship Series conference.
He declined to put a percentage on the chances of landing a 13th game and refused to identify the prospective teams or their conferences.
Frazier said the athletic directors of the respective schools are in favor of the game, but it hinges on their football coaches.
UPDATE: Dave Reardon with more.
Hawaii athletic director Herman Frazier said today the number of schools considering filling UH's 2007 football schedule is down to "one-and-a-half."I don't get it. Does that mean the other school doesn't have cold feet? This is good news, right? In any case, at least we'll know Friday....
...
“Karl Benson’s going on vacation on Friday. I told him if we didn’t have anything done at the middle of this week or toward the end of this week we’re just gonna go with 12 and we’ll have everything resolved by Friday,” Frazier said. “People have got to make a decision one way or another. So at this point I’m not going to hold us up anymore. So it will be 48 hours. One (school's) got cold feet. So we’ll go with one-and-a-half and we’ll let you know Friday.”
