Game Week: Idaho - Tuesday News

Stephen Tsai writes that this morning's practice has been cancelled due to rain. It may be rescheduled for this afternoon.

Tsai writes about the Warriors having time to recover during the bye week.
Center John Estes said he has endured a variety of injuries this season. The past week, Estes said, "gave me a chance to rest up. I needed that."

Estes played well in the Nevada game, which preceded the back-to-back road games against Utah State and New Mexico State. "It showed," he said of the Nevada performance, "in my body being all banged up."

Slotback Kealoha Pilares, who has recovered from a foot injury, said the bye week "helped me recover a little bit. I feel good now."
Jason Kaneshiro looks ahead to the final home stretch. He also has notes about the proposed UH vs SMU matchup and an update on the disputed $400k.

Ferd Lewis looks at possible Hawaii Bowl matchups. There's a chance there won't be a PAC-10 team in the game.

And Jason Kaneshiro writes that UH AD Jim Donovan will be rooting for BYU this weekend, but he has a good reason:
No. 9 Boise State enters the week undefeated and in contention for a lucrative BCS berth entering its game at Nevada. Should the Broncos manage to end the season unbeaten, they'll likely still need help from BYU -- which plays at No. 6 Utah on Saturday -- to earn a BCS spot and a fatter payday for their Western Athletic Conference brethren.

"You won't often catch me rooting for BYU," said Donovan, who lost to the Cougars twice as a UH offensive lineman in the 1980s, "but in this particular case, I hope the Cougars have a great day."

Donovan's rough estimate put the possible financial impact of a BCS berth for a WAC member at $500,000 for UH, which would receive a share of the bowl payout.
