News and Notes
In the Bleachers names Adam Leonard as one of 10 non-BCS defensive players to watch in 2008.
Stephen Tsai reports that former UH offensive lineman Kynan Forney quietly donated $35,000 to the football program.
Colt Brennan attended an Augie T show this past Sunday.
And finally, former UH receiver Chad Mock was released by the B.C. Lions of the CFL.
UPDATE: Tsai writes that Karl Noa was cut by the New York Jets.
UPDATE 2: Tsai adds that Kenny Patton received a tryout with the Jets, and walk-on offensive lineman Travis Campbell is transferring to SDSU. Best of luck to both of them.
A first team all WAC selection in 2007, Leonard is not only one of the WAC’s hardest hitters, but one of its biggest defensive playmakers. Second on the team with 105 tackles last season (53 solo, 11.5 tfl) Leonard also took two interceptions back for touchdowns and broke up four passes. Not the tallest player, he nevertheless has a great feel for the game and the always underrated ability to shed blocks with ease. He’s a versatile player can play either the “mac” or “buck” linebacker positions as they’re known in Honolulu, and should be a major asset in new head coach Greg McMackin’s efforts to keep the program competitive. With Adam, Solomon and Blaze playing together for a second year under McMackin and Cal Lee, the UH linebackers gonna be unreal this year.

Nice story about Kynan Forney. He is not obligated, he has his own financial situation, he is doing well and for him to give something back to UH is great! That is what makes that story so special. Now with Jason Elam and C. J. Hawthorne (hopefully) the Atlanta Falcons deserves the backing of Hawaii fans.

That is good stuff that Kynan Forney gave a huge donation to UH. I like to see that kind stuff, being a donating Alumni myself. I personally think all Alumni who went through athletics should give back something even if its $10 a year.
Keep up the good work Hawaii Supah Blogger.

Also Miami has three former Warriors:
Samson Satele
Reagan Mauia
Davone Bess
Of course it depends on whether Davone Bess makes the team--voting for best free agent has him still leading by far margin with 55% of the votes. And Mauia has some legal problems regarding him punching some guy for looking at him.

i still can't believe reagan would just false crack a guy and then lie about it, if the allegations are true. i mean, WHY?????
but let's hope there's more to the story than that, and/or the dolphins don't want to make an example out of him. they have brought in more fullbacks in the offseason, so it's not looking so hot right now.
but it looks like davone impressed a lot of people during the rookie camp. i have a good feeling he'll make the team.
