Watson, Maka, Lumpkin, JJ Owes UH

The Warrior Beat is hosting a chat with Keala Watson at 2pm today.

UPDATE: Here's a link to the chat, and an excerpt:

what is your most memorable play of all-time??
Forced fumble and recovery against Nevada. Coach Mac told me exactly what to do before the play, and i did it, and look what happened. I owe coach Mac a plate lunch for that one.

Stephen Tsai writes that while Francis Maka is still waiting to hear from the NCAA regarding a medical hardship petition, he has been cleared to participate in spring practice. Also from the article, George Lumpkin is recovering from hip surgery, and:
The unions representing the UH athletic department media-relation workers, trainers and equipment managers are seeking overtime pay for their clients.
And Ferd Lewis writes that June Jones owes UH some money.
The University of Hawai'i is asking former football coach June Jones to pay $400,008 it says is owed for his departure to Southern Methodist University.
"We have not received any payment from Coach Jones," Manoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw said through a spokesman. "We are in contact with June and his representatives in an effort to resolve this matter."

Leigh Steinberg, Jones' agent, said, "We're attempting to work it out. We've been in discussions (and) we're working on a resolution."

Money money money...root of all evil, not to mention personal pleasures at massage parlors.

Tombo, howzit. U da Hawaiian Supah man/bloggah.

Eh, make JJ pay. He make $2 million. Plush, da $400K can do a plenty good to fix da locker rooms. Just make sure da moolah go to Koa Anuenue, or a fund that McMackin can spend on football. It can pay for a charter flight or something. I think dat is fair.

Tombo, you called it. Its all up in the air. Santos, Kiran, Austin and others will compete. I heard Kiran tore it up before da injury and Santos is the sleeper. Grunke should get a chance being a senior and all that. If they all stay equal, I like Kahuku and Iolani. Go red raiders! At one time they both stay red radiers. Cuz, they not all equal, I want the best QB to lead da team. Good to have plenty of guys da way GA took down CB. May need a few fresh QB for da long season.
