New AD Jim Donovan

Earlier today, Jim Donovan was announced as the new UH athletic director (woot woot!) Here's a press release about it from UH.

"I'm honored and humbled to represent something that means so much to the people of Hawai'i," Donovan said. "The University of Hawai'i Athletics Department really belongs to everyone in the state and we'll work hard everyday to make everyone welcome and appreciated for their support."

Dave Reardon, who was liveblogging the developments leading up to the announcement, has this quote from interim AD Carl Clapp.

“Jim’s a professional. He’s a professional athletic administrator, he’s a very good communicator and he’s very good at working with people. I think he’s going to provide outstanding leadership for the department.

“I’m enoying the opportunity to serve the department. There’s been a lot of folks in the deparment that have stepped up in his interim period and I really appreciate all the support I’ve received.”
