Paipai Falemalu and Alema Tachibana Commit

Awww yeah.
Kahuku High standouts Paipai Falemalu and Alema Tachibana today accepted scholarship offers from the UH football team.
Falemalu, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker, turned down offers from California, Washington and Oregon State.
Tachibana, who is 6 feet 3 and 200 pounds, can play both defensive end and linebacker.
Congratulations to Paipai, Alema and the UH coaching staff.

UPDATE: Here's an article from the Advertiser.
Falemalu is 6 feet 3 and 220 pounds and has been called a "coach's dream," by Kahuku head coach Reggie Torres. "He's a good student and a great athlete."

Torres said Tachibana, who is 6-3 and 200, can play both positions but prefers to "be in a three-point stance and charge."

Yes!!!!!! Paipai Falemalu? I thought he was going to the PAC 10. This is huge for UH. Props to the UH coaching staff for keeping an outstanding football player in the state to play for the home team.

looks like mcmackin and the coaching staff are really putting a big emphasis on local recruiting and showing a lot of respect to the schools, players and parents around town, and it's just paying off greatly. this is awesome :)

Congratulations and welcome to Paipai and Alema! They be great, and Hawaii will be great. I know the conditioning program at UH will make those guys into scary HUGE hard hitting defense guys. Awesome job to Mack and crew for walking the walk of really going out to get Hawaii's best to stay home. The Warriors are truly becoming Hawaii's team.
