I wish that being 12th in the BCS is good news. Living in Idaho, I am a big BSU fan. I was disappointed in the loss of my team; however, that just tells me that Hawaii is the better team this year.

Even after we (BSU) won the fiesta bowel, all the excuse makers (supporters of the BCS) stated that it was a lucky game, because of the last couple of "trick plays". As I remember it was BSU who was spanking OU most of the game, and it was OU who got a lucky break on a punt that allowed them back in the game. All those naysayers seem to forget that.

Now to my point -- yes, if Hawaii beats Washington they'll get into a BCS bowel, but that isn't good enough for me. If Hawaii is good enough to beat Nevada (with Colin Kaepernick), Fresno (who just beat Kansas State by a larger margin than Kansas did), BSU, and perhaps whoever they play in the BCS -- then they deserve the right to compete for a national title. It is ridiculous that a team could be the only one to go undefeated, and have no opportunity to to play for a national championship! It is possible that the every team except Hawaii end up with two losses.

The other complaint I have is that Colt Brennan, in my mind, is an extraordinary QB. Many of heisman candidates are moving up in popularly because they have one or two very spectacular game(s), yet if you exclude a couple of exceptional games from the stats, there numbers are good, but not exceptional. Colt on the other hand actually missed two games (It's not fair to count the Navada game), but his numbers have been consistently excellent (game, after game, after game). So what gives. You can call him a "system guy all you want, but his arm is true -- he hits his player regardless of distance or route, and even does it with the defense on his heels. He deserves a better look for heisman than what he is getting.

As far as the BCS is concerned, the only way to make it fair is to create a playoff of the top 16 teams. Maybe teams like BSU and Hawaii won't get that far. But they deserve that opportunity, rather than being ranked lower than teams like florida, who has 3 loses, one to an unranked team.

I'll be cheering for Hawaii, I hope you beat Washington. If you go to the BCS, I hope you give whatever team you play a BEAT DOWN. This should create more outcry to change the BCS.

I couldn't of said it any sweeter than that Jason. All the best to the Broncos on your upcoming bowl. Give the opponent something to remember of what the WAC can do...which is a convincing win + beat down .

    Jason,
Thanks for your very thoughful and well informed comment. I cann't tell you how much this Warrior fan was cheering for your team when it went toe to toe against Oklahoma last year. Your team opened the door for everyone in the WAC and we really appreciate it. Your program, team and fans are all a class act and I hope we can follow the path you guys have cleared for all of us. I did notice in reading the polls that BSU is still ranked 25. I was glad to see that. If this is supposed to be a "reloading year" for you guys, next year is going to be something else for your team. Much Aloha,
    Niall
