Melila in Review

Mel Purcell gets some praise from Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel in this article from Mike McLain of the Tribune Chronicle regarding the Browns' rookie camp.

Rookie minicamps aren’t the place for linemen to show off their skills since hard contact is prohibited. Still, Crennel likes what he’s seen of defensive linemen Melila Purcell and Chase Pittman.

“They look good in shorts, but to get the pads on, that defines them,” Crennel said. “Both guys have good size and they look the part right now. Kind of similar to Simon Fraser. That kind of frame. Now we have to work with them and build them up and see how they fit.”
