Timmy Plays

Timmy Chang is going to the NFL Hall of Fame! To play one quarter in a preseason game, that is.
Eagles coach Andy Reid announced after Saturday morning's mock game at Lehigh that playing time would be apportioned equally for Sunday's Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, against the Oakland Raiders.

Quarterbacks Donovan McNabb, Jeff Garcia, Koy Detmer and Timmy Chang, will all play a quarter. The first, second, third and fourth units will also play a quarter.
This should be fun to watch. Not sure if Timmy plays the 4th quarter or some other quarter, so be sure to start watching the game from the beginning. The game is TODAY at 2:00pm Hawaii time, 5:00pm Pacific, 8:00pm Eastern. Check your local listings! I might even liveblog it if I have the chance.

UPDATE: The game is starting in a few minutes and I'll start liveblogging below whenever Timmy hits the field, or if anything interesting pops up.

All times Gametime!

1st quarter

12:39 - McNabb starts the 1st quarter...

6:10 - Okay, Jeff Garcia is in now. Maybe they're gonna switch off each series, which makes sense. We'll see.

2:07 - After a Raiders turnover, Garcia is back for his second straight series.

0:32 - Garcia gets intercepted.

2nd quarter

13:59 - Garcia is in for his third series.

9:42 - Al Michaels mentioned that Koy Detmer doesn't figure to make the active squad this season. Interesting.

7:47 - Garcia is in for his fourth series.

0:45 - Garcia in to finish out the half.

END OF FIRST HALF - So hopefully Timmy plays in the second!

3rd quarter

14:53 - Detmer comes out to start the second half offense.

10:20 - Cris Collinsworth was interviewing Warren Moon about his Hall of Fame induction. Moon mentioned the run and shoot offense they ran in Houston. Perhaps this a sign Timmy will play in the next series.... Nope, Detmer back in.

7:51 - Detmer back in for his third series.

2:47 - Ouch, three way collision between a Raiders receiver and two Eagle defenders on a lofted pass. Everybody hard a hard time getting up, but everyone's okay. Probably will be on the sports highlights shows tonight, along with Timmy's upcoming 3-touchdown performance in the 4th quarter.

2:30 - Detmer in for his 4th series. I hope Timmy gets to play this much. He'll have to in order to get three touchdown passes.

4th quarter

14:48 - Eagles get the ball back on an interception. It's Timmy Time!

14:42 - First play was an incomplete play-action attempt.

14:37 - Second play is a run for no gain.

13:55 - Philly takes a timeout. 3rd and 10 when they get back from break.

13:55 - Chang throws it out of bounds under pressure. 0 for 2 on that series.

12:15 - Eagles get the ball back on a fumble in Raiders territory. Here we go! Right after this commercial break.

12:15 - Nevermind, the ruling has been reversed after review, so Raiders retain possession.

11:43 - The Raiders cheerleaders sure are pretty. Anyway, Eagles will get the ball back after this kickoff.

11:37 - Timmy completes a short 5-yard pass on the first play of this drive.

11:03 - Under pressure, Timmy throws the ball away. 3rd and 5.

10:56 - Nice completion by Chang over the middle! Nevermind, they're saying it hit the ground. But NBC's replay makes it look like a catch. Crap.

10:39 - Ummmm, okay, maybe it was a catch. 1st and 15 on the 31 yard line after a false start penalty.

10:17 - Timmy dumps off a short 7 yard pass.

9:41 - And then the Eagles fumble. So far, Timmy is 3 for 6 for about 30 something yards.

5:37 - Timmy completes an out pass for 6 yards. 2nd and 4 on the 32.

5:04 - Whoa, pass tipped and almost intercepted. 3rd and 4.

4:58 - Timmy completes the 3rd down pass for the 1st down! 1st and 10 on the 38.

4:58 - Nevermind, there was a penalty. 3rd and 9. Timmy completes an out pass to the sideline, but it's about a yard too short. So far I think he's 5 for 9 for about 50 yards. UPDATE: 5 for 9 for 38 yards.

2:55 - Okay, Eagles get the ball back on their own 37. Time for a comeback drive!

2:47 - Timmy completes a screen pass, which is promptly fumbled. Dammit. 6 for 10 for 43 yards.

1:48 - Eagles get the ball back. Now's the time for the come from behind victory!

1:43 - Timmy completes an out route for 9 yards. 2nd and 1 on the 19.

1:38 - Whoa, Timmy almost completes a pass over the middle, but was just off the fingertips. 3rd and 1.

1:32 - Hand off for the first down to the Eagles 29. 1st and 10! The running back, Bruce Perry, is injured on the play. Hope he's alright.

1:14 - They're taking Perry off on a stretcher. There's a bunch of medical staff and players on the field.

1:14 - The Eagles are gathering around the stretcher and now they're taking him off. They have him stabilized, and Perry gave the thumbs up as they wheeled him off. That's a great sign. Let's hope for the best.

1:01 - Timmy throws low to an open receiver. 2nd and 10.

0:49 - Pass complete over the middle to the Raiders 44.

0:41 - Timmy spikes it.

0:34 - Out pass complete to the 39.

0:29 - Timmy throws an interception on a misread it looked like.

0:20 - Bruce Perry has a concussion and they're taking him to the hospital, but it sounds like he'll be okay.

END OF GAME Timmy was 9 for 17 for 84 yards and an interception. It wasn't too bad until that last throw. Overall, not too bad and he got to play a lot.
