Warrior Pro Day & more Spring Ball

Congratulations to our Warriors in their Pro Day workouts today in Carson, CA. Here's some vid and news.

And from the Star Advertiser:
Pro Day Preview.
Representatives from every NFL team will evaluate speed, agility, jumping and weightlifting disciplines.
Position drills will be recorded on video, with copies sent to NFL and Canadian Football League teams.
“We want to open some eyes,” said cornerback Lametrius Davis, who trained in Portland, Ore., the past two months.
Pro Day Preliminary Results
Other players had standout performances. Ex-UH safety Mana Silva, who led the Warriors in interceptions last season, recorded what was initially announced as a UH pro day record of 42 inches in the vertical jump, breaking a record of 41 1/2 set by Kenny Patton in 2007.

Stephen Tsai has some pictures from the event on his Warrior Beat blog.

And thanks to LizK for finding some post Pro day reactions from outside Hawaii on our former Warriors.
From Yahoo Sports. Alex Green receives lots of attention from scouts.
Hawaii running back Alex Green had a strong Pro Day workout, displaying sound hands and smooth cuts as four running back coaches observed.

Sports Illustrated's take on how our wide receivers looked.

All three receivers from Hawaii looked terrific and each established themselves as legitimate picks during different points of the draft's seven rounds.

And more from Spring Practice. More from the SA and how some backups are getting more reps with unfortunate nagging injuries to the first liners.
“We feel for the injured guys, but it’s been a blessing in disguise for the inexperienced players,” defensive line coach Tony Tuioti said.
Defensive coordinator Dave Aranda said: “Our young guys are stepping up. It’s their time.”

And a preview of running back Joey Iosefa from Samoa.
“Joey Iosefa’s been a great surprise,” UH running backs coach Brian Smith said. “He looks a lot quicker, he’s understanding the offense a lot better, getting a lot more comfortable, so he’s had a really good spring so far.”

Ferd Lewis profile's Darius Bright and how luminescent his future at Hawaii might be.
Gone are Salas, Pilares and Bradley, three of the top four pass catchers on what was the nation’s most accomplished passing team.
With Pollard returning at wide receiver on the right side, Bright's emergence on the left would give the Warriors the kind of explosive, double-barreled outside threat they haven’t enjoyed for a while.

This group looks exciting on Offense and crazy deep on Defense. Questions appear to be place kicking and punt/kick coverage. If we get some Tomey magic, then look out baby.

chawncut and Tombo Ahi, have you guys ever thought of moving this blog to SBNation? You basically do the same thing all those bloggers do, except they get paid.

    http://www.sbnation.com/

Search through all the blogs...they all do the same stuff you guys do. However, there currently is no blog supporting Hawaii athletics. You two should look into it. You both do a fantastic job.
