More on Greg Alexander's Injury

From Stephen Tsai:
The damage was shown on the MRI, which was taken Thursday night, after the Warriors returned from their road trip.

Today's operation will be to repair the torn ACL and MCL.

During the procedure, Alexander said, surgeons will determine whether the quarterback will need further surgery on the meniscus and other cartilage.

"I feel really bad for the kid," UH head coach Greg McMackin said. "He's worked so hard. He put in his blood and sweat into it, to become one of the better quarterbacks in the country. Then that happens."
And this is the way the new QB depth chart is shaping up:
McMackin said Bryant Moniz, a walk-on who joined the Warriors in January, will be the No. 1 quarterback.

McMackin said Shane Austin will be No. 2.

Seven assistant coaches return from Mainland recruiting trips today. A coaches meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to determine how the Warriors will fill the No. 3 quarterback's spot.
From Jason Kaneshiro:
Rausch, the No. 2 quarterback to begin the season, is recovering from a broken bone in the pinkie finger of his throwing hand. Moniz, a Leilehua graduate who transferred from Fresno City College, is the only other quarterback to take a snap this season. He has completed six of 12 throws for 145 yards.
Dave Reardon has a column about how Greg Alexander twice proved him wrong, and his hopes that he'll do it again.

And I'm not sure if he'll ever read it, but here's a link to a SportsHawaii.com thread where Warrior fans are thanking Greg Alexander for working hard and giving his all to UH.

Ugh I'm still reeling over Alexander! We'll, guess we'll have to see what the new kid Moniz has to offer. He looked good at times filling in last week. Hey Tombo, making my annual trip from the mainland to see family (huh, UH/Fresno game saturday - what a coincidence!) - Go Warriors!
