Hawaii 25, Central Arkansas 20

Yikes.

Thank goodness UH won. At certain points, either Central Arkansas looked really good or UH looked really bad. Hopefully it was just opening game jitters and some rust that needed to be knocked off. On the bright side, safeties Mana Silva and Spencer Smith looked great. Blaze Soares is back! Greg Salas looked unstoppable. Here are some stats via SideArmStats.com:

Greg Alexander was 21 of 32 for 304 yards with 3 TDs and 1 INT. He also rushed 16 times for 76 yards.

Greg Salas had 7 catches for 180 yards and 1 TD.

Mana Silva, Spencer Smith and R.J. Kiesel-Kauhane led the team with 10 tackles apiece.

Blaze Soares had 7 tackles.

KGMB has some video highlights from the game.

The Advertiser and Star-Bulletin have game summaries.

UPDATE: HawaiiAthletics.com has a game summary along with a box score and post-game notes.
Nine players made their first career starts on defense, including defense lineman Liko Satele, Tuika Tufaga and Elliott Purcell; linebacker Mana Lolotai and Blaze Soares; and defense backs Lametrius Davis, Jeramy Bryant, Spencer Smith and Mana Silva

Making their first career starts on offense were junior wide receivers Rodney Bradley and Jonvonte Taylor and senior guards Raphael Ieru and Ray Hisatake

UH will not play again at Aloha Stadium until Oct. 10 against Fresno State, a span of 36 days which is the second longest in the country.
