Coach Mack

The WAC will announce on Monday what action, if any, they will take against Greg McMackin.
WAC commissioner Karl Benson declined to say which way he was leaning but said violations of the conference's sportsmanship code can entail "private reprimand, public reprimand or game suspension."
Benson said, "I appreciate (Manoa) chancellor Virginia Hinshaw and athletic director Jim Donovan's quick and decisive action and I'm confident that will make my decision easier."
Here's coverage of yesterday's press conference from the Star-Bulletin and Advertiser. Stephen Tsai has quotes from players and recruits. Ferd Lewis has a column about the situation.

I for one am ready for this story to be over. It's brought out a lot of hatred on the blogs, article comments, message boards, etc. Coach Mack made a big mistake, but he also made a very sincere, remorseful apology. Notre Dame, the LGBT community and most everyone involved have accepted his apology. He's being suspended, taking a pay cut, shooting a PSA and working to turn this negative into a positive. And he's been beating himself up pretty good on top of that. I hope we can move forward and start talking about football someday soon.
