Preliminary 2009 Roster

UPDATE (2/9/09): Here's the updated roster, sorted by class.

::::::

Here's an unofficial 2009 roster broken down by class. It's not too early, is it? Some caveats - most of the incoming class still need to sign LOIs in February, and a lot can change in the meantime. I'm also not 100% sure who redshirted or grayshirted this year, whether Jovonte Taylor and others are coming back, where some of the new players will end up, who's moving where, etc. Names will be added/subtracted/moved if we get any new/correct/missing info so please give us a heads up if you have any news. I'll repost after LOI day. Shooooots.

    It is hard to believe Blaze Soares is already a senior. We've hardly gotten a chance to see him play... if he can stay on the field, I suppose we are pretty decent at LB. Nothing like this year's awesome wrecking crew, but Brashton is not bad.

    John Estes is going to be one hell of a pro prospect. I hope he has another monster year; we sure need some good OL play.

    My god the receiver corps is thin. Who will become THE MAN? Lane? Salas? PILARES?!?!?

    Great chart, thanks for taking the time to make it!

    If all three incoming QBs actually sign, it seems like it'll be a pretty talented group, assuming all live up to the hype. Makes me think one might change his mind...

    Nice work! Was it only last week that you said you don't write any articles and that you just link to them? Keep it up!

    No punter? Probably to be done by someone playing another position? Or will the kicker also do punting? Or will UH never have to punt since UH always getting touchdowns! Good positive thinking!

    hopefully blaze can remain healthy this year. not sure what his situation is for getting a redshirt for 2008, but i thought i read that he had a chance for another year after this. anyone know what the situation is?

    as for the receivers, some of those listed as wideouts will probably be slots, so i gotta wait for the spring practice reports from tsai and reardon to update.

    f-lo, haven't heard about a punter, but i'm sure they're gonna bring someone in either in the spring or fall. i believe tim grasso didn't sign on until the fall of 2007. if anything, mike wadsworth, kimo makaula and liloa nobriga were also good punters for their teams so who knows.

    D tackle positions are wide open with only Vaughn, Tuika and Rocky the only ones returning with game experience. Incoming JC players should help but I want to see Hanohano and Correa start showing their stuff as well.

    Dear Warrior beat,
    10-22-2009
    I have noticed that #37 Kenny Estes, from Waimea High School and #95 Vaughn Meatoga from Kalaheo is a bum and without money and relying on Kaua'i support, such as medical and bills without proper education. Why is this in Honolulu, yet?
    College? What!
