Coach Mack Show, OSU Review, Bye Week

KGMB has this week's Coach Mack Show up on their website.

Dave Reardon highlights five key plays from the Oregon State game in his Warrior Replay article.

Stephen Tsai writes that the Warriors are awaiting word on the severity of injuries to Keith AhSoon and Tyler Graunke.
In the best scenario, the Warriors hope that Graunke did not suffer a fracture. After Saturday's game, he wore a brace on his right hand. He said he had difficulty making a fist.

The Warriors stayed overnight in Oakland, and returned to Honolulu yesterday. Graunke told coaches his hand felt better. But the coaches remained guardedly optimistic.

"We have to wait for the tests," head coach Greg McMackin said.
Tsai mentions contingency plans, other injury news, and this week's practice schedule.

Coach Mack is thankful for the bye week.
"Hits are like car crashes and we've had a lot of hard hits," UH coach Greg McMackin said. "This bye is coming at a perfect time for us. We've got to get healthy and work on correcting things."
Some of the things to correct is discussed in this Jason Kaneshiro article:
Hawaii is tied with Rutgers for 118th (out of 119 Football Bowl Subdivision teams) in turnover margin at minus-three per game, and the Warriors' 11 giveaways are the most in the country.
Overall, the Warriors' third-down rating of 15.2 percent (5-for-33) lands them 119th.
Ferd Lewis has more stats.
With a more productive offense or better executing special teams, the UH defense probably wouldn't rank 108th among 119 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) teams in scoring defense at 39.3 points per game.

But UH has the most turnover-prone offense in the country (119th with 11 in three games). Only Southern Methodist (8) has had more passes intercepted than UH (7). Moreover, UH has some of the worst kicking game coverage statistics, ranking 111th in kickoff return defense (27.3 yards per play) and 105th in punt return defense (21.6 yards).
Dave Reardon has some musings about the game, what needs to be done, what might've been if... in his Further Review column.

And after some technical difficulties, Reardon's back to blogging on the UH Sports Extra.
