Adam Leonard Video / Tuioti-Mariner / Draft News

Leila Wai has a video of linebacker Adam Leonard, aka Manimal, showing off his crib. It's pretty damn funny.

======

And this is pretty unexpected, yet pretty cool at the same time. The Star-Bulletin reports:
Clarenece "Lafu" Tuioti-Mariner of Hawaii is among 46 players on the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded each year to the best center in college football. West Virginia's Don Mozes won the 2006 Rimington Trophy.

Tuioti-Mariner is a 6-foot, 285-pound junior who entered UH spring practice as the leading candidate to replace Samson Satele as the Warriors starting center. Larry Sauafea and Aaron Kia also received significant time with the first team in spring practice.
Not bad for someone who hasn't started a game at center. Hawaii linemen getting respect!

======

Alex Marvez of the Sun-Sentinel in Florida has a Q&A with himself, I think, answering questions about the Dolphins draft picks. Here's an excerpt:
The Dolphins are seeking lighter, more athletic guards and want to add more aggressiveness to the line as a whole. The 6-foot-2, 302-pounds Satele fits the bill on both accounts. At 272 pounds, Mauia has the size to become a devastating blocker in the same fashion as Lorenzo Neal, who played under Cameron the past four seasons in San Diego.

The Dolphins also added another Hawaii player in Esera as well as using a fourth-round draft pick on a defensive tackle of Samoan ancestry in Paul Soliai.

Q: Can we expect the rookie offensive lineman to contribute much this season? Also, are they better suited to play center and guard?

A: I would not be surprised to see second-round pick Samson Satele (pictured) of Hawaii receive snaps as the starting left guard during this weekend's minicamp.
Right on. It would be cool if Samson and Tala get to play side by side, blockin for The Juggernaut!

And in a Miami Herald article by David J. Neal, Dolphins GM Randy Mueller has some good things to say.
Esera brings the University of Hawaii rookie training-camp count to three. The first two were center Samson Satele, the Dolphins' third-round pick, and fullback Reagan Mauia, whom the Dolphins took in the sixth round.

''That was not a part of the plan, but at the same time we found out that Hawaii does produce some good players and they like playing,'' Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller said Sunday after the NFL Draft. `` June Jones has done a great job coaching them up over there. There's also a coach on the offensive side [ Wes Suan] that actually coached me in college, so we had a pretty good connection on what kind of kids these guys were.

''Who knows? Maybe strength in numbers they'll feed off each other,'' Muller said. ``It's a good group and they're close. They're very close. As you know, the culture is one of passion and caring.

``They bring some of that. Those are good team building identity things that we want with our team.''
