So March 19th...

...came and went and no games were announced.

Well, the night's not over yet, so there's hope yet.

But don't stay up.

As Stephen Tsai wrote:
Just returned from UH, and the football coaches are resigned to a schedule with (at least) two Division I-AA opponents.
One coach joked the Warriors would open against OD.
OD?
Open Date.
Asked about the opener, a UH safety said: "I think we're playing Madden that day."

June Jones should call a news conference with as much media as he can muster and call out the nations NCAA football teams. He needs to let people on the mainland know, that there is no NCAA school brave enough to take on the co-champs of the WAC. The fact that no team of any significance want's to challenge the Warriors is a slap in the face after the season they had last year. The potential this team has for next season, frankly scares the nation’s top teams. However, don't you think they would be obliged by the challenge? I do!!!

I totally agree. It is time to call a spade a spade and issue an open challenge to everyone and anyone. Tell them we will play anyone anywhere on those open dates. If we have no takers, so be it. That way when the media tries to belittle the schedule, at least Jones will have this in response. Besides, this will make a great topic for discussion in the news everywhere.

thanks for your comments joel and niall.

i think that would be cool for june to throw down the gauntlet like that. not sure if it's too late for that to happen, though any team can come down and play hawaii because of the 13 game "hawaii" rule.

this is a combination of poor planning, michigan state's bad-mouthing and wimping out, and UH's awesome season last year, which makes teams scared to come down.

Maybe a call to Larry Biel, our Hawaiian ESPN guy, could be arrange for an announcement.
Not to sure how tactful it would be, and how much media press they want on the subject, but could produce results.
