Mid-Week in Review

Here are some stories from the past week or so:

Dennis McKnight has been officially announced as the new offensive line coach.
Dennis McKnight, who served as a graduate assistant last season, has been hired as the offensive line coach on the University of Hawai`i football staff, Herman Frazier, athletics director, has announced.

"I'm so excited that Dennis is on board as a full-time assistant coach," June Jones, head coach, said. "He brings a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm to our team."

...

"Who said you can't come home?" McKnight said. "After working as a graduate assistant last season, I'm very gratified and appreciative of the opportunity to work with the staff and kids on a full-time basis."
Congrats!

Colt Brennan and June Jones got awards from the state legislature for being awesome.

Tomorrow is Hawaii's "Pro Day" in Carson, California where Warriors like Samson Satele, Ikaika Alama-Francis, Tala Esera, Dane Uperesa, Mel Purcell, Leonard Peters, Nate Ilaoa and others (Juggernaut???) will get to work out for pro scouts. This message board post says it'll be held at the Home Depot Center.

Speaking of Samson, he gets props from USA Today.
Scouts are comparing him to former 49ers-Hawaii star Jesse Sapolu, who also had great raw power, leverage and nimble feet. Satele holds the school record with 53 consecutive starts. Has not had his hair cut since enrolling at Hawaii in 2002.

Rivals.com ranks Colt Brennan as the #1 quarterback in the nation and Davone Bess as the #8 receiver in their initial power rankings.

Ashley Lelie talks about settling in the with the 49ers.
