Utah State 35, Hawaii 31

If the San Jose State game was doo doo, then this was painful sideways doo doo after eating a bunch of nails. HawaiiAthletics.com has the soul-crushing details.
Robert Turbin's 1-yard plulnge with 14 seconds left proved the game-winner as the Aggies (3-5, 1-2 WAC) overcame a 21-point second-half deficit. Turbin's score capped a 12-play, 59-yard drive that ate up the majority of the final five minutes.

Come on Ferd Lewis , Dave Reardon and all you Ney Sayers,Do your folk’s history and I guess I’ll refresh your memory, and you sports writers who jump off the band wagon and follow the crowd how sad the two of you are… Let’s see History lesson time Hawaii has won or shared 4 WAC titles. Let’s see what the following year holds.
    1992 -1st at 11-2-- 1993 8th at 6-6/3-5 1999 1st at 9-4 -------2000 6th 3-9/2-6 in the WAC --- June Jones -- NO BOWL 2007 1st at 12-1- June Jones leaves and Coach Mac takes the ball - 2008 2nd 7-7/ 5-3 in the WAC Bowl Bid 2010 1st at 10-4---- 2011 5-4 and still in contention for a bowl bid with 4 games left.
How soon you all forget the 1996-1998 seasons when we were 5-31. The injury bug has bit us hard on the starters and backups this team has shown no quit. Our OC and DC are still learning what it takes to win when you have a target on your back and they will in time. I’m sticking with Coach Mac and this team whether the make a bowl game or not extend coaches contract and you won’t be sorry.

Ouch. A surprising season, this year. And not in a good way.

Anon is right. People are quick to forget that Jones had some rough seasons too.

And you have to admit that we're seeing some encouraging things from the new players. Both Sterling and Iosefa have been effective backs. The new receiving corp has been developing as well. Ostrowski looked pretty good last night.

This is really a surprising season. I don't get it. I could barely watch the San Jose game! VERY NERVOUS!

The unversity should shut down the football program. It is not only the coaching, but the conference affiliation (including the MWC)is junk. What a waste of money. Let's put the money towards Men's basketball (or better curriculum)!!

Very painful to watch, but what comes to mind is how the US Coast Guard, when searching for someone, always holds off as long as possible before changing their rescue operation to a recovery operation. The Warriors will work hard to recuse the season, lets not move to recovery (aka rebuild) yet. There is a lot of football to be played, and a bowl game is still out there to end the year on a mellow note for the fans and the seniors.

LOL "painful sideways doo doo" flippin hilarious, I honestly dont think Mack can win 2 more games out of the next 4, i think hes gonna come up short once again...theres no fight in dis team, After losing to UNLV, i tapered my expectations with dis 2011 team, kinda reminds me of that 2009 team? wasnt that the year they came up short for a bowl game, only won 6 games, and they also lost to UNLV from on a last second lob, from none other than Tank Hopkins???, either way, i hope dey pull it together, I think the coaches need to be motivated more than the players...

Wow..I knew they were gonna lose, not to offend the warrior nation fans. something told me that after how they played at Auburn this year, it showed they were a totally different team than last years Utah State. They may bend, but won't break. I think the 21 point lead going into the half was overrated. UH got a little too comfortable, being at home and leading by 21. Unfortunately, Utah State came marching back in style.

My final prediction, Hawaii will lost 3 more games, and win 1 more (winning against Tulane). A very sad way to leave the WAC, hopefully things will change when Hawaii's in the Mountain West.

Its the coach's job to rally the troops and change the attack when the battle shifts. McMakin seems to have a hard time doing both. Letting a team come back from 3 TD's means the Warriors thought they had this thing won and they slacked off. Coach McMakin has to keep that fire burning under his players, and put games away. And remember, the best offense is a good defense.

Anyone notice that when we get up we start running the clock soooo much. I know that we have to take time off the clock but thats not their game. When JONES was here we just kept the foot on the gas. When our o-line is in their stance, they wait (on a couple plays) 20 seconds. Thats why we get those stupid offsides penalties. Rolo call the play, BRAIDS say hut, and lets go. Dont be afraid to score 70, thats the game, if they cant play with you oh-well. Stop being Mr. nice guys (GAYS). PS Lets take TANK out and give someone else a chane, wouldn't change a thing if he sucks. PSS COACH MACKIN win or START PACKIN!

Coach Mac has been terrible ever since he took over the program. He has been solely responsible for 75% of the loses the team has had since he's been the head coach. He lacks the killer instinct, waste way to many timeouts, miss manages the clock and trumps his office coordinator's call to make a bad call. Coach Mac always seem to feel sorry for the other team when the route is on and he takes his foot of the gas pedal. That being said,"WE NEED A NEW COACH FOR ALL THE OUTSTANDING TALENT THIS TEAM HAS"!!!

Perennial problems are afflicting UH this year. Mostly, like of depth. This year it is a the WR corps, which except for Pollard has absolutely no vertical, long ball threat. As UH plays on it loses more and more of its viable pass catchers (in a run n shoot offense). Not an excuse-- but USU got many lucky bounces. That's the game.
