WitP: RGM, Sopoaga, Ulbrich, Ingram, Veikune, Pisa

Ryan Grice-Mullen returned 5 kicks for 108 yards, 2 punts for 12 yards and had one catch for 4 yards as the BC Lions beat the Toronto Argonauts 36-28.

Isaac Sopoaga and Jeff Ulbrich had one tackle each in the 49ers preseason opener. ESPN.com's Mike Sando has a link to an MP3 of Jeff Ulbrich being interviewed on a radio show before the game.

Chris Warner of Patriots Daily writes that Jake Ingram demonstrated consistency in his NFL preseason debut yesterday.

David Veikune talks to the Canton Repository about practicing at both inside and outside linebacker.
There’s no telling how much about the team will change under new Head Coach Eric Mangini. Some key players don’t even know what position they will play when the real games start.

Rookie Round 2 pick David Veikune, for example, has been hopping all over the field. Isn’t it asking a lot of a rookie to master two inside linebacker spots and two outside linebacker positions?

“Dude, I guess you have to ask Mangini that,” Veikune said before the team flew to Green Bay. “It’s just an honor for them to have me at all these positions.”
Pisa Tinoisamoa talks to the Chicago Sun-Times about his role on the Bears' kickoff team.
Tinoisamoa doesn't have experience on kickoff returns but is eager to give it a try. Safety Al Afalava also could figure into the hybrid role at some point.

''It's part of my role, and I am trying to embrace it as best I can,'' Tinoisamoa said. ''[Toub] has a lot of confidence in my ability, and he thought that position would best fit me. You know what -- special teams is important, too.''
