WitP: Colt, Dowling, McBriar, Satele, Ulbrich, Bess

In Washington's preseason opener, Colt Brennan was 4 of 12 for 43 yards and one pick. However, he was pressured pretty much the whole time he was in the game.
Colt Brennan looked, uh, not like the summer of '08. Brennan had it tough; even one staffer told him as he was in the locker room that no one could have succeeded behind that line. He admitted that the interception prevented im from taking chances later in the game. Brennan was off; he'd throw to his right only to discover that someone on the other side was open. And on the pick, he actually made the right read and throw. The problem was that the receiver, Marques Hagans, slipped. Also, he's small so the defensive back ripped through him for the pick. Perhaps a bigger guy would have been physical enough to either make the catch or break up a pick.
Chawan Cut compiled some of the news reports about the game from KHON, KHNL and KITV.

Also in those highlights was Jameel Dowling, who recorded 3 tackles in his preseason debut with the Cardinals.

Mat McBriar had 5 punts for an average of 47.2 yards and a long of 62 in his first game back from the broken punting foot he suffered last season.

On the other side of the field, Samson Satele played extensively in his first game as a Raider.
With injuries along the offensive line, starting C Samson Satele played through three quarters...
In tomorrow's 49ers vs Broncos matchup, Jeff Ulbrich will get the start at linebacker in place of an injured Patrick Willis.

Here's a nice note about Davone Bess from today's Dolphins practice.
Ted Ginn Jr. just dropped a pass during a drill where assistants hit the receivers with pads. Ginn was knocked a bit off balance and lost his concentration.

Davone Bess absorbs a similar shot and makes a difficult catch, maintaining complete body control. Bess is smooth in everything he does.

A catch in he corner of the end zone draws oohhs and aahhs from fans.
And here's a MiamiDolphins.com video of Bess getting interviewed by the Miami media earlier today.
