Fall Camp: Day 4 Wrap-Ups

Stephen Tsai writes that Blaze Soares is today's guest on The Warrior Beat Show. UPDATE: Brashton Satele will be a guest as well.

Tsai writes that Lewis Walker's mother is doing okay, takes a look at the left cornerback battle between Lametrius Davis and Tank Hopkins, and talks to Aaron Kia about recovering from knee tendinitis.
Kia, a fifth-year senior, promises improved play this season.

"People always judge me without knowing what I was going through," Kia said.

Last year, his first as a starter, Kia endured tendinitis in both knees. He was told the condition was a result of overuse of the patellar tendon.

Kia said the pain started in his right knee, and when he over-compensated, it began to affect his left knee. And then back to his right knee.

"It went back and forth," Kia said.
And Jason Kaneshiro highlights some of the battles along the defensive line.
"(Last year's experience) makes me a lot more confident on the field," said Meatoga, who saw extensive playing time as a redshirt freshman. "Especially since we don't have that much experience on the line with only John returning, I feel like I'm obligated to step up and try to lead the guys."

Meatoga trimmed down to 290 in the offseason while maintaining his strength. Rocky Savaiigaea also returns in better condition after training in Arizona over the summer.

Freshman Geordon Hanohano and junior college transfer Zach Masch rotated in with the second unit yesterday.
