2008 All-WAC Teams
The WAC has announced its all-WAC teams.
Solomon Elimimian is Co-Defensive Player of the Year, along with SJSU's Jarron Gilbert.
UH players named to the All-WAC first team are Elimimian, Adam Leonard, Ryan Mouton and John Estes.
Mike Washington, David Veikune and Keala Watson were named to the second team.
Congrats to the All-WAC Warriors!
UPDATE: Earlier, Ferd Lewis bestowed his own awards, which I'm guessing are called "Ferdies". Here's one of them:

WAC Defensive Player of the Year: David Veikune, Hawai'i defensive end.
San Jose State defensive tackle Jarron Gilbert had slightly better numbers (9.5 sacks, 1.83 tackles for loss per game, 2 fumbles forced), but Veikune (8.0, 1.25, 4) had the season-long consistency and big-bang impact.

Veikune 2nd team??? What? You can put almost everyone else anywhere in the All-honors. But Veikune deserves 1st.

What the hell is up! Veikune on 2nd team? Unbelievable. This is the reason Veikune will kick ass in the pros. He was a better end last year than anyone on the team and had to play second fiddle to the starter. He will have something to prove to all the voters. I would hate to be the Cincinnati tackle that goes against him this week. He will take it out on him because of this horror! Veikune for team MVP 2008 is my vote.
