“We’ll get tested this week,” Hill said. “This is a team we’ve had a real difficult time with in my tenure here. This is a big game for us.”Jason Kaneshiro talks to Inoke Funaki about watching the game tape, improving, and getting ready for FSU.
The Bulldogs have lost two in a row against the Warriors, and Pat Hill is always reminded about those two losses against Hawaii.
“I hear it all the time,” Hill said. “It’s the truth though. Hawaii’s beaten us the last two times out. We had a very tough loss last year and they put a shellacking on us two years ago at our stadium. And we all remember it well.”
The Warriors' starting quarterback had some rousing scenes early in the footage, but those moments were ultimately overshadowed by a series of pivotal turnovers in the Warriors' 20-17 defeat.Stephen Tsai profiles punter Tim Grasso, who talks about his preparation for and recovery from games. Tsai also writes about the players who were punished, and Brian Kajiyama's statement about the E:60 profile.
But in those frames were lessons Funaki will take into Saturday's Western Athletic Conference game at No. 22 Fresno State, when he's expected to make his third start of the season.
"That's what we're trying to do, correct those mistakes," Funaki said. "There were a lot of them."

I agree that UH has some good QB's in the mix but I think it is time we see Greg Alexander back on the field. This guy has an impressive JC record, lots of playing time on the field, has a strong arm and is big enough to run the ball down the field if he needs to. I'm not sure what the hold up is with putting Alexander in the game. He has now had plenty of time with the playbook to understand the UH plays.

Hey, I agree with keepersfinders and I'm sure others agree too!Alexander definately deserves some playing time after being thrown under the bus in Florida!

We have to give some credit to Coach Mack and Coach Rolo to evaluate who is ready. It takes time for QB's to learn UH's system. That is why I always thought that Graunke would be leading this team if he did not screw up in spring, fall, and now being hurt. That being said, it would be good to give the JC guys playing time if Funaki loses focus again. I like Funaki and think he can get the job done.

I think staying with Inoke is a great choice. He is the one QB that gives us the best chance to win right now. JC football and sprain hand QB QB is one thing but D1 football/injuries and knowing our RnS is another. The JC QB will get better and love our future because of them too but... Inoke's ability to run, lead and improved ability to read and throw...which is improving everyday along with Coach Lee's, Rolo and Mac to adjust our RnS to our teams strengths will give us a better chance to win.
Dan, Timmy, Rolo, Colt all did not start with the rythm needed for our RnS to be great but the more reps, coaching and more game experience they got it...they got into the rythm which I have faith Inoke will attain in the next couple games. As one of the many thousands of 12th Man Warriors...I can control myself and do my best by continuing to support the team by being positive, cheering them on during the games and PPV, as well as buying Warrior merchandise and donating money. Represent 12th Man Warriors! Believe !
The 12th Man Warriors are also being judged nationally by other fans, and future potential Warriors of all ages so we all can do our part and support. A few think they know better then the coaches and the players ...but...no way can fans know as much as them...they have more experience, facts and spend more time focused on our football team. Go Warriors....I'm 100 % with all of you guys including Coach Mac win...lose...draw for the next 4 years for sure baby. I'm so sure we are rebuilding and will get back to the BSC in 4 years with Mac and Cal and Ron and Smith and Rolo, and Gerke, and Stuz, and Rich and players today and those 2009 HS players that verbally committed.....Mahalo's!

I agree with Mano1.
Regardless of whether you like a specific QB more than another, or if you want to blame any specific coach like some have, you must still be some kind of fan of UH for you to even care about how UH does. Just stay being a fan and soon UH will start playing better as everyone gets healthy and more experienced. Although I was hoping to have a better record at this point, that was almost impossible with the opponents UH has had so far.
Sometimes it can be frustrating watching the mistakes made but I know they are trying. I don't boo any UH player as that gives all the players the wrong message. I appreciate that these students wanted to come and play for UH and they are trying their hardest. I wish all the other fans would continue to back up the Warriors in their temporary hard times.

I say Fresno wins by 42 points. Final score, Fresno 52 and Hawaii 10. Also, another QB concussion hit to one of Hawaii's player.

great comments. thank you all for sharing. gotta agree with mano1. gotta support whoever is QB. it takes a while for a QB to get comfortable in the run-and-shoot, even someone like funaki, who's had several years of practice and late-game experience, but not too much pressure situation experience. but now he's been through some of that, and he's getting a lot more first team reps. i think he'll have a great game at fresno.

Hey I am all about the Warriors - win, lose or draw. Don't get me wrong I believe that the coaches are there to coach and doing a good job. I just feel that with Alexander's record and size that he could make a change for the team. There must have been a reason for the coaches to start him in Florida. He has been there since the summer and has been working hard the whole time. It would be great to see him out on the field at least for part of the game to see what he can do, how he has changed and how hungry he is.
As far as GoBlue's comment goes I would like to see Fresno try to take this guy down, he is built like a tank and has the speed of a sports car.

When Hawaii comes to Fresno, they will meet the beast they call, the bear. Full name, Bear Pasco...don't let his height and frame scare the O-line. His name doesn't do justice for what he has done and will bring this Saturday against your Warriors. good luck! May the best team win the WAC title!
