2007 All-WAC Teams and Awards
The WAC has announced their 2007 first and second teams, as well as individual honors. June Jones is Coach of the Year and Colt Brennan is Offensive Player of the Year. Brennan, Davone Bess, Ryan Grice-Mullins, John Estes, Hercules Satele, David Veikune, Mike Lafaele, Solomon Elimimian, Adam Leonard, and Myron Newberry made the first team, while Jason Rivers made the second team. There was also a special "Offensive Unit of the Year" award given out. Stephen Tsai has details.
How influential is Colt Brennan?Dave Reardon writes about the classy move.
After being told Saturday he would be named the WAC's Offensive Player of the Year, he asked WAC commissioner Karl Benson to recognize the entire team.
The WAC did just that, giving a special award for "Offensive Unit of the Year." Acknowledged were Brennan, slotacks Davone Bess and Ryan Grice-Mullins, and wideouts C.J. Hawthorne and Jason Rivers.
Maybe some of the Karl Benson bashing will stop since the WAC commissioner was responsive to Colt Brennan’s wishes to honor his receivers, and Benson created a new “unit award” to give Jason Rivers, Ryan Grice-Mullins, C.J. Hawthorne and Davone Bess.Congratulations to all!
Benson, a Boise State alumnus, is often accused of favoring the Broncos.
And it’s no surprise Brennan came up with the idea to share his Player of the Year award. We’re used to that kind of selfless attitude from him.

Congratulations to all the Warriors who made it onto the All-WAC team.
Also, we can see how the coaches voted in the USA Today poll here:

Hal Mumme, New Mexico State coach, voted Hawaii number 1. The four WAC coaches on the list (Mumme, Tomey, Hill and Petersen) all voted Hawaii at least 7th.

Schnellenberger's ballot is kind of the odd man out except for his vote for OSU. Kansas is his number 2 and Boise St. is in at number 10.
