Hawaii #14 in BCS Rankings

According to CFN, Hawaii moves up three spots and is ranked #14 in this week's BCS Rankings.

Great news, especially since UH got zero points from the computers again. As long as these numbers are correct.

UPDATE: Looks like it's good. Woo hoo! Here's the BCS rankings from ESPN (and from Fox). Like last time, only one of the six computer polls gave us any points, but that one's automatically eliminated because only the middle four are taken into account. Just gotta keep winning...

Our averages from the USAA and Harris polls are higher than the 3 teams ranked in front of us. Why the hell do we not get a single point from those 5 computers?? This really vexes me!!

You are psychic tombo...you predicted the rankings right on the dot ! So...umm...any predictions on whether or not I'll meet my future bride in college this year? haha.

All the best to you guys this season...I hope you guys play us (Gators) in the Sugar Bowl. Hopefully the loss yesterday to the dogs of Georgia won't stop our chances? Take it easy bruddah...

i figured #14 thinking we would be getting some computer points, and we didn't get any... so if we keep winning, the computers should hopefully come around, which will boost us up into "guaranteed" territory. who knows though, maybe no need computers the way other teams are losing.

thanks for the good wishes. playing florida would be awesome. good luck to your team, and also good luck finding a bride :D

warriorx, seems like the computers are weighing strength of schedule pretty heavily. if UH keeps winning, we'll definitely be ranked in more than one poll by the end of the year. here's some info from the BCS site about how they compile the human and computer rankings:

    Hey SD,
Thanks for all the info. We appreciate your positive feedback and wish your team the best. It would be great to see both of our teams make it to the BCS. Tho you folks are certainly familiar w/ the BCS, it would be a great accomplishment for our program that would mean a lot to the people of Hawaii and all Warrior fans. Here's wishing for the best.

schadenfreude, lets have fun speculating on who should lose for UH to get to twelve in BCS. Coneticut and Michigan are blocking us to the promise land. But what do you guys think? I think that they should disclose the algorithm that makes these rankings. However, the computer I think is in our favor, because of the high scoring offence. from this we can infer that UH should run up the score all the way to 80? Unethical no?

hey apuya, michigan shouldn't even be ranked ahead of us. i mean, they LOST to a I-AA team, while we beat TWO of them, awww yeah. but teams ahead of us will lose and there's no problems hoping for that to happen.

as for running up the score... even though the final scores may seem like it, JJ doesn't do that. he usually has the reserves in by the 4th quarter in a blowout. but that doesn't mean the reserves can't try to put more points on the board. and with graunke at the helm next year, you gotta hope he'll be going all out. would be great to have some big blowouts next few games...
